So the effects of the virus wore off or something? The descendants of the infected people didn’t inherit the same genetic symptoms? I’m kinda surprised they didn’t do a repeat of the line from the 1968 film and Rise to showcase the opposite species as being able to speak. I also wonder if they are going to show those astronauts coming back to Earth who launched in Rise

My theory: May is the new human astronaut protagonist like Taylor from the original. She speaks and is intelligent. The bad apes hunting her could have more implications other than her being human. We saw apes using electricity in previous trailers and this is set 100's of years after the last one so that knowledge should be lost. Unless an astronaut with such knowledge landed back on earth with the know how and has been forced to toil under evil apes who seek to conquer other settlements via superior tech.

Maybe since she is the main target, the dictator ape wants her dead because she could be the key to humanity's return to dominance. To prevent that and keep apes the dominant species, they target all humans, especially her.

There is a theory from the film that she is smarter than the others because she is one of the astronauts who got lost in time and space. According to the theory, she separated from the crew, which consists of human characters from the very first 1968 film, and got to Earth. The main villain of the film, Emperor Proximus, could have found out about this, which is why he wants to catch her so much. It is also noticeable that the film often raises topics about space, especially recalling the footage from the observatory with a telescope that were in the trailers. It may well be that in this film they can prepare a plot for the fifth part, which may become a remake of the very first film of 1968.

I hope not, it’s too early for that. I was hoping the astronauts wouldn’t land in for another 300 or 500 years. Maybe have them land in the second or third movie of the series.
