Early life
Suresh grew up in Chennai and studied at Oxford English High School before completing his education at Shrine Vailankanni English School. He went on to graduate in Commerce and as an MBA in the 1990s while simultaneously pursuing his acting career.[citation needed] He married Anita Suresh, but they later divorced. He has one son named Nikhil Suresh.
Career
Suresh's grandfather, Seshaiah Naidu, was a poet and writer and wrote lyrics for a few films before he went back to teaching. His father, M.S. Gopinath, directed 34 films as Director and Producer in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada Films with the then Leading heroes like NTR, ANR, Krishna, Sobhan Babu and the last being Raman Parasuraman (1980) with Sivakumar in the lead. Following in their footsteps, Suresh started as an editing assistant and a dance assistant. One of his father's friends, a photographer opined he could make it as a lead actor. Suresh approached director C. V. Sridhar with a portfolio but was initially turned down.[citation needed] A few years later, Suresh went on to play the lead in three of Sridhar's films. He then met director duo Santhana Bharathi and P. Vasu who decided to cast him as the lead role in their venture, Panneer Pushpangal (1981), while simultaneously cast in the lead role in Bharathiraja's Alaigal Oivathillai (1981). He chose the former, but both films went on to becoming large commercial successes during the period.[2] Until the 1990s, Suresh played the role of a lover in many films and produced four films and seven television serials before taking a hiatus.
He made a comeback to Tamil films in 2006 after signing the Srikanth starrer Kizhakku Kadalkarai Salai and has since worked in other notable productions in supporting roles including Aasal (2010) alongside Ajith Kumar.[3] In 2012, Suresh appeared in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi directed by Balaji Mohan, playing the character of Akilan Venkatesan, who was going through a mid-life crisis. Suresh has hosted and a judged in the competitive cooking game show "Kitchen Superstar" for 6 seasons on "Vijay Tv"
Apart from acting, Suresh directed a Telugu film called "Bhavani" starring himself in lead role. Produced 4 Feature films Prarthana, Bhavani, Sivudu and Raghava. Produced 7 Successful Television Drama serials in Telugu and Tamil Languages of more than 2000 Episodes together, Creative Directing/Supervising all of them.
He has also worked as an Dubbing/Voice Over artist by providing voices for Ajith Kumar in Aasai (1995) and for Nagarjuna in Idhayathai Thirudathe (1989) Siva (1989), Ratchagan (1997) Ooty (2012) 'Manam for Nagarjuna ( 2016) dubbed into Tamil and for Nawab lending voice to Aravind Swami for Telugu Version of Maniratnam Film (2017) along with and a few others.
