That dining plan seems so much better than Six Flags, where you are limited to a lunch, snack, and one dinner.

Vortex being an old 80's Arrow coaster definitely lets you feel it's age. I've had mixed rides with it over the years. Some better then others. I would say it's good for at least one ride. Diamond Back is a HUGE air time thriller, with only carrying a lap restraint that lets you lift out of the seat during those air time moments. Front car is a must do at least once. First or second row, doesn't matter, you get the best air time there being fully exposed. Firehawk, definitely time your ride based on the sun, as you could be like me and end up forced to look at the sun most of the ride. Fun fact, the coaster was relocated to Kings Island from another Ceder Fair park. I do believe since this filming it has been removed and sent to another park. Backlot, actually isn't a Ceder Fair build, it was built, I believe during the time Paramount was the owner of KI. Which is probably why the effects still run as good as they do. Definitely a fun launched coaster. Flight of Fear is probably one of my top 5 must rides. Knowing it's launched, if you lean back into the seat a little it isn't as rough. Wear sunglasses if you want an additional layer of thrill. Makes next to impossible to see in front of the coaster. The Beast, it's a beast, and definitely a fun ride. If you don't already know the legend and how amazing the ride is, you need to ride it. I do believe The Racer dates before the Beast, which is why the ride lacks the energy later wooden ones have. The Banshee is fun, but I like Diamond Back more. The Tombraider ride was very underwhelming. It's not a coaster, it's a flat ride. Not really entertaining, not surprised it's gone. Mystic Timber is a very fun wood coaster to ride and great addition to the park. I rode it first year they opened it. The other coasters are fun and worth at least one ride if you can get on them. Too bad nothing can compare to the Great Pumpkin Coaster.

New rollercoaster coming! Its called Orion. Its in King's Island, it's stands over 300 feet, TALLEST RIDE IN KING'S ISLAND! Its a blue, fast, and huge! When King's Island opens in July, I think you should ride it. It looks awesome!

I agree with Molly; Flight of Fear hurts me. To me, it rattled around a lot and the lap bar just kept getting tighter and tighter throughout the ride. I LOVE the Racer and Firehawk though! The Racer is just so fun and old school. Firehawk is a great thrill! I especially love going through the loop and being able to see the other side of the train. I LOVE it.

I'm from the northeast corner of Ohio in Madison, Ohio. This park is definitely on my list of parks I want to visit in my lifetime.

You get quite a bit of airtime on The Racer, plus it was the first coaster at KI (back in 1972) AND it was featured in the Brady Bunch episode "The Cincinnati Kids".

Congo falls is a really fun ride but If you stand on the deck right in front of it when it comes down you get soaked.

Nice review and tour of Kings Island. I would like to see them bring back some of the classic rides they used to have like Les Taxis, and the Skyride. I can't do Flight of Fear or Vortex anymore.

rcdb.com/67.htm#p=137 The Beast has had trim brakes for years. You can see the trim brakes in this picture from 1994. They used to be skid brakes. At some point they downgraded to the magnetic trims, that they use now. The magnetic trims work way too well. I recommend riding The Beast in row 17. The trims don't feel as bad, and you get the slightest pop of airtime on the hill right after the first drop.

I'm honestly glad that the bat isn't as popular cause I don't have to wait to get on. Flight of Fear and Mystic Timbers are definitely my favorites. Also, the Stunt Coaster is alright but I feel like it's really short and is pretty slow for a magnetic coaster

When I was a little kid growing up throughout the years between 5-10 years old, (now 26 years old) I always told myself that the vortex was a ride I would never go on, welp its my favorite ride now.

I love vortex sm!! But I think they should refit the shoulder pads, I’m fine with the ones now but I think it will make vortex even more enjoyable for other people!!

and they do use the crypt building for haunt but the one in there is trash so I hope they do reuse the building

The Racer is a quite old and rough ride, Back when I was a kid they ran one side with the train turned backwards. Not sure why they changed it, maybe backwards got too rough. I also do not like firehawlk, it is very uncomfortable. Kings island is a great park and I have been many times. In my book Cedar Point is still the best Park with the best coasters.

What I want to see Kings island do: So they should put in a B&M giga coaster that breaks some kind of world record. Now here is a Theory might sound stupid, but you know the other two Cedar Fair parks that have staggered seating on there B&M hyper got a B&M giga, now the only park that is missing a B&M giga that has staggered seating on there B&M hyper is Kings Island so that is why I think they will get a B&M giga. Another thing I want to see Kings Island do is expand the park either past the back half of Banshee, or they can expand X-Base or add a new area of the park past X-Base, or they can expand the park past WindSeeker and the back half of Racer. That's what I think what do you think?

No new trims have been added. They replaced the skid brakes with magnetic brakes that are more noticeable than the old skid brakes.

Diamondback is amazing. Racer does good for its age, vortex is rough but its an arrow looper so thats expected. Bat too long of a walk for a 2 minute ride. Advdnture Express is a fun ride. Love shake rattle n roll. Firehawk is fun to watch. Tried Banshee didnt like it. Not a fan of Backlot stunt coaster. Beast was cool. Half of the damn boo blaster guns dont work.

we are season pass holders, I love the park, the vortex was refit for the shoulder pad at some point in the last 15 years, invento was faceoff when it was paramount owned the park. Racer was better when the right side was backwards. I agree that a great place for a new coaster or something!!
