The last hand river shove is a 100% Grade-A pure punt. We're basically only ever getting called by hands that beat us after villain's line (has called a check-raise, and then leads into the check-raiser on turn with a "please raise me"-sizing, not really even a blocker bet sizing). When he put that 1/10thpot in, nearly every alarm-bell in my brain went off, and the rest went off when he flats our raise. This feels like another scenario where the guy likely knew you and your image, and played it back at you for max-punishment. KK is basically a bluff-catcher at that point. Check-back river 100%
@jamesgernhart1093Ай бұрын
*Small value bet is acceptable if intending on folding to raise* only thing I’d change about what you said
@michaelsparks1571Ай бұрын
@@jamesgernhart1093 Occasionally maybe, but I feel with this line, villain will have very little value left in their range to target holding KK (unless they're extremely bad or creative, they are NOT playing something like JT/J7/T7 this way). With the previous action, we're either already crushing them (ex. AdJs) and they fold to any size bet, or are way behind (ex. flush) and we're lighting chips on fire. VB also opens door for villain to check-raise again and possibly blow us off value. River should just be a check-back. If we had AdAx I think there's more value to attack since we block nut-flush, but with just Kd, the nut flush is still available to villain's represented range. We should pot-control river with just two-pair on that board and previous-action.
@mattmcgary2404Ай бұрын
@jamesgernhart1093 small value bet only opens you up to get repaired by better. Very few retailers bluffs after that runout. Hardly any value to be found here I think. Just my two cents lol

Hi Rampage. You asked for my comment about the KhKd hand. I am not a pro. Back in the day (before 10/2006). I would watch nose bleed cash games on PS non-stop to try to learn something. The one thing I remember was whenever there was a flush board or a paired board, the super pros would proceed with caution. I know it sounds simple, but that was my thought when you asked for my view. GL Sir.

Why would anyone ask for your comment? Also, no fucking shit? BREAKING NEWS, THE sky is blue, water is wet. You don't have to be a pro to fucking play a flushed board or a paired board cautiously. What Rampage did on the river was SUPER punty. He raises turn, gets called. WHAT do you fucking think the villian is going to call you with? If he missed, he folds, if he's slow playing, you're losing. This is typical Rampage bullshit. Get far because slaps the deck harder than black mommas slap their kids, then pretends he's good. I know this is kinda easy for someone watching but on that hand at the end when he made the small bet of 40k with a potential nuts on the flop I had a feeling he was slow playing, think about it if he really wanted to bluff he would have bet a lot more possibly like 150 but instead he put a small bet that made it easy to call and allow you to see that card, he probably put you on pockets and needed a way for you to catch up with the board paring that was perfect for him, having you get 2 pair, and his check could’ve failed if you checked back but obviously he felt you would try to get him off the hand. What was really chefs kiss was using the time banks I think that really got in your head and made you think you were ahead. I’m not close to a pro and I learn a lot from watching you but for me I always if I think I have the best hand I’ll play that 40k wouldve made me cautious.

On that river with the board pairing Ten and you have Aces, I like a small 1BB bet to induce a bluff. It takes away their option to check. And it’s one of the most psychologically difficult things to fold for 1BB on the river. But they can’t call so they almost always raise their bluffs.

The 6d5d hand wasn't that bad, your opponent is just loose for calling that flop bet OOP with KQ no heart. If you're playing AA-TT, A9, 98 etc with no heart the same way then you have plenty of better hands that bet flop, check turn, and can call river, though against a player who floats too wide OOP 65 is probably still a call. The KK hand was the bad one. Your opponent's range after he raised flop and called your turn raise is just flushes, straights, sets, and hands like Ad9o that are planning to bluff you on non-board pairs. All of his 9dXx, 8dXx as bluffs and two-pairs are probably folding turn, so KdKo is meant to just call down turn and river.

Knowing that you are bagging in 3 hands, I believe the KK @rampage was misplayed because I think you are 2nd in chips on the table and position 1 already folded (who looks like to be the chip/table leader in chips) with that said you needed to size up with KKs because how vulnerable they can be against the short stacked players. The blinds were already huge. chipping up at this stage of the tournament is better than flipping against Ax hands for your tournament life even tho you covered him you could still be out in a few hands after tilting. Now if this was at the Final Table Hand you would of open 3 bet shoved and of course Ax would of insta muck I know I would but he was suited there's a Chance he calls but you open 3 bet shoving you must have minimum AK suited. Just adding ICM pressure before Final Table with or without KINGS. Allowing them to see the flop for cheap is how you get premiums cracked. Sometimes its better to take the blinds and not lose 30% of the stack by overplaying. which is what we generally do when we get delt AAs KKs we get attached and we overplay. thats POKA BABY!!!!

On the last hand the blind was $30k and you raised it to $65k with the big blind calling you. The big blind in GTO is supposed to defend with any suited cards (although GTO is far less effective if your opponent is a less sophisticated player...ie. you). But he could be playing ANY diamonds, A3 with ace of diamonds, any suited 98, a 77, and possibly slow played 1010 or JJ from out of position. What hands do you think he can call your shove on the river? Maaayybe J10 but not likely. J7 suited or 10-7 suited? No. He check raised you on the flop. Then he called your check raise on the turn...both actions are extremely strong, but if he made those actions on a diamond draw he's never calling your river shove after missing. So what do you think he has???? Either a made flush on the flop, a straight on the flop, a set on the flop, or he missed his monster draw and never folding to you unless he had A3 with ace of diamonds..

I'm not so sure on the last hand. Seems like very thin value. They way it's played out is opponent chasing flush, flopped straight (less likely with small lead/call) or flush, or set chasing full houses. All in which you don't win anymore money. The only hand you can really target here is j10. Even then your raise on the turn seems over pair with a diamond more than a set as it was a really small raise given pot size. You make it 260k on turn and he either jams or calls then you have a much easier decision as you block kx for combo draws and can realize quickly one pair or even two pair are behind. Saves you a mil in this spot.
