Mike Pingleton, a legend in his own lifetime. Amazing that he lives so far North. I would have thought he would have lived somewhere like Florida and Texas, maybe even in the south-west.

I live an hour away, and he's one of my closest friends. We have been able to herp all year round with determination. He's retired and is on a nonstop herp trip now. He's the best.

Awesome video Noah! I love that you found so many snakes! It’s a bummer about that one snake you found, but at least the other 3 lived! I really really want to go out and find a small snake to hold when spring comes up here in NY. Maybe I can find a ringneck or a garter snake! Keep the great videos coming! 😄💙🐬🐊🐍

Amazing how the coloration can vary on Eastern kings. Some almost don't look like the same species.

Nice king and queen snakes. I think this is the first time I saw you handle a queen snake. Also the dead snake and the Dekay’s brown snake nearby seems more than a coincidence.

Man your eye for these things is unreal. I live in Upstate SC and have some great places to look - some creek areas, great wooded areas, etc and I never find anything. Drives me nuts. Do you ever take guests with you?

My grandpa taught me a lot about snakes as a kid. He had a saying, red and yellow is a killer fellow, but red and black, now that’s a friendly jack. I always remembered the difference between coral snakes and kings snakes because of that.

Out of curiosity, how do you know that the ringneck was dead bc someone dropped the tin on him? I don’t herp, so I don’t know. I’m just curious.
