Only a soul with a very special heart could make such a statement. I am sure that when these beautiful people touch every strings of the guitar, your soul will take a storm in you.Life and the moments that make its meaning valuable are often hidden behind the notes.Only such beautiful people can reveal these good feelings from the depths they hide.

@thapeloheath Жыл бұрын
@@Racedoc Greetings :D While i don't dispute that it's phenomenal playing, and that the others are looking at him as if they're taking a lesson... Still, isn't that the same as when they play with even a very young dancer? I've seen them connect in this deeply curious way even with not-very-polished child artists. They literally draw inspiration from the collaborative act of creation, and every session is a lesson for all who will bring what has been dubbed in other fields, 'a beginner's mind'. I don't think they're as enamoured with technique as many of us outsiders to their world are (or have been). It's more like they're overcome with awe in the presence of someone entering 'the zone' -- to borrow another pop phrase that speaks to Spirit. I believe what we're being invited to witness in this documentary short is a series of glimpses into what is essentially a spiritual tradition being passed on via informal, musical gatherings. Not to put too fine a point on it, lest i be misinterpreted as trying to narrow it to a Christian concept, but where else have we heard about ordinary folks being Kings? They're like, by God, that Mario is The King right now! Look up 'duende' as a concept in the flamenco tradition they've built on.

6:24 can someone tell which song is this? Amazing. Just look at their body language, as if they talk to each other while playing and appreciate one another on a good riff. Almost like they worship their art.
@thapeloheath Жыл бұрын
@Hellkeeper I don't know the names of these songs, but i must guess it's mostly improvisation in this video. They certainly reference published songs quite a lot, but i don't think static works of art are what you get with them in their family circles. Perhaps more so than any other musicians i've encountered outside of jazz (a diverse genre they've been inspired by), they appear to rework and borrow endlessly within and outside of their own repertoire. They recorded an early instrumental 'Duende' which is in my opinion one of their greatest and which is named for the spirit that comes over a flamenco as they perform their art. In a word, worship. It is undoubtedly a connection with the divine, even if sometimes words like 'dark' are used to describe the experience. Caveat: I'm just a fan, and not an expert about 'duende', the Roma, these musicians, or the Andalusian musical heritage that was a melting pot long before these French families picked up their first guitars or sang their first harmonies.
