My tribe in Somalia never revolted against the ottomans and we fought the British for 22 years from 1899 to 1921. We was the last sultanate to get help from ottomans and first country in Africa to be bombed. The british infilterated friendly tribes and brought their colonialist subjects to fight us. In 2023 Still the British regime is supporting their friendly tribes against us in northern somalia called today british Somaliland.

You missed the entire point of the video... The revolt was hugely the result of the misconducts of the Ottomans not the Arabs they ruled over. Pan-Turkism, mistreatment of local populations, and frankly bootlicking and European Powers is what made the people they ruled over mistrust them, if the Ottomans did not want a revolt, they should have protected us more like the Caliphates before them.

Non-loyal? Please, Ottomans served themselves. The arabs loyalty is what blinded them from seeing that the Ottomans who rule over them are barely muslims. How many sultans went to Hajj in mecca? Famine, insecurity, shirk, illiteracy! I can go on and one every town in Hejaz has enough stories and evidences of how the Ottomans despised the arabs... some call it inferiority complex. I think you should consider making a series about the downfall of Ottomans in the Arabia connecting them to the events from crimean war to the great war and other muslim perspectives like in Indian subcontinent. You may consider discussing the religious perspective too. You could even collaborate with Al-Muqaddimah too as he seems to be an expert on this topic. That'd be worthy of a watch. There are some points that are missed. Regarding the bedouins, up until the ending decades of the 19th century they were essentially ungoverned and so untaxed. After the reforms the Ottomans decided to start governing them which meant imposition of heavy taxation and corrupt administrators. This alone had significantly contributed to their resentment. As the new governing infrastructure was based on the Hejaz railway it was especially hated. Regarding the rural Arabs in the Levant region, the reforms brought them almost nothing creating an extremely feudal society with absentee lanlords (who frequently were christians) owning entire towns while living in Beirut or Istanbul. The reforms strengthened the rich merchants who became said landlords. The levantine arabs didn't joined the revolt but were apathetic to both sides.

I just want to mention that this "Arab" revolt only concerned the bedouins of Sherif Hussein's tribe in the Hejaz. Very, very few Arabs from Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Nejd, Yemen, or other areas participated in this revolt, and it was considered "largely unsuccessful" by British authorities. In fact, the vast majority of Arabs fought _for_ the Ottomans, and even after the war, when Hussein's son Feisal was "crowned" king of Syria, the people largely did not accept him.

Also while you concentrated on the Hejaz and the Sharif of Mecca, you did not mention the near constant fighting between Saud Nejd and Jabal Shammar, the puppet of Ottomans. That would lead to after the WWI to house of Saud conquering all Arabia. The British allied/aided Saud early in WWI, much earlier than Hejaz revolt. Of course so did Abir also. But a great video over all.

Did they? They supplied arms but most of it was literally in WW1, the british only really supplied weapons to Saud but Hussein got political support + much more weaponry. Thing is though alsaud were already at war with the Ottoman puppets before the british got involved or WW1 in general. So it was just alignment from their side, while hussein flipped. Pretty sure the British also forced Alsaud to stop ikhwan raids constantly on their protectorate in kuwait and stopped the earlier hejaz war but then stayed neutral later in the second one
