I love this film, especially as I was born and raised in Northamptonshire and parents worked in the Boot & Shoe industry. The smell of leather and glue is almost tangible, so nastalgic. What a pity that most of the factories are gone or turned into flats. Extra bonus, I've been to that Milan piazza and shopping area too.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, love-love-LOVED the stage musical, but does anyone else notice an inconsistency? Lola keeps breaking her heels so Price and Sons are going to make boots for her (and yes eventually drags queens and trans women) But she appears at the factory in a pair of glorious electric blue stilettos that Charlie and Co didn't have a hand in making? WTF?

There is also a huge difference between just wearing them, and PERFORMING in them. Also it goes along with the huge deal that Charlie makes in the beginning that a good pair of shoes should last your whole life like @flagenhaw here was saying
