Это группа вечна и уже бессмертна. Такие как Виктор Цой вписаны в историю навсегда. Перелом эпох рождает таких людей талантливых на века. Сейчас проходят концерты по России без ушедшего от нас Виктора Цоя с группой Кино и собираются полные стадионы и площадки. Это называется одним словом, певец перешёл в вечное.

I only discovered this band last year. My son found them on Deezer and got me to listen. I immediately knew I was listening to something not only good, but great. I'm Canadian so thank god for that music app. Otherwise I never would have heard of them.

Didn't they remind you of U2, Cure etc? Didn't they sound a bit epigonic? I can't say their sound is inique and recognizable, they followed european mainstream just legging a bit behind in time.

@@user-mg1hp4fu4u The best I can describe them to people is a mixture of 80's new wave, Russian folk, and classic 70's rock. Nothing is 100 percent original, everything has its influences, but I certainly wouldn't call them epigonic.

@@user-mg1hp4fu4u weren't a few popular rus bands back then more or less " in the footsteps " of such bands? It was quite a popular "genre" at the time. Alyans at many times reminded me of the sound you describe as well. Bioconstructor seemed to have a more unique sound ( or maybe just less well known around the world ). I love all three groups to be honest

@@user-mg1hp4fu4u every russian needs to hate or at least belittle everything good, that has been created in Russia😂😂😂. For god's sake: canadian dude has somehow discovered an iconic russian band. He has also liked it, although it is considered untranslatable and not quite understandable by a foreigner. But this goof needs to tell him, that Kino didn't write their songs from a total emptiness, and that they were inspired by european music. He also need to tell this canadian guy, that this is bad somehow 🤦

I discovered them about 3 years ago, they were in my discover weekly playlist and I just fell in love with them. I don't understand any russian at all, but their music is just so good and so emotional, even without being able to understand what exactly the song is about. He just had such a calming and comforting voice.

I read many translations of this song, and due to the language differences no one translation ever was really correct. In russian language every word can completly change meaning depending on its case, in this song used a specific local wordplay with words and cases. "Спокойного сна" (have a calm sleep) is a disguised phrase "rest in peace" or as it sounds in russian "sleep calmly" (спи спокойно). This song contain many wordplays so i wouldn't translate it exactly word-to-word because in this way song transaltion almost loose it's sense. "have a calm night" means "have a good night" in russian as well as "have a calm sleep" is "have a good dreams" but text of the song isn't "have a calm sleep, have a calm night..." but "have a calm sleep, calm night..." (case and stress changed, but it can't be translated correctly due to local specific play with emphasis) which is changing meaning from "have a good night" to "night is calm". So actual, translation not of the text, but of the meaning of the song would be: Rooftops are trembling under the pressure of days Heavenly shepherd herding the clouds, City shoots into the night with buckshot of lights But night is stronger, her might is powerful To those who are going to sleep - have a peaceful rest, the night is calm To those who are going to sleep - have a peaceful rest, the night is calm I've been waiting for this time, and now this time has come Those who were silent aren't silent anymore Those who have nothing to wait saddling up They wouldn't be caught, already wouldn't be caught And to those who are going to sleep - have a peaceful rest, the night is calm To those who are going to sleep - have a peaceful rest, the night is calm Neighbors come, they hearing clicking hooves They can't fall asleep, it disturbs their dreams Those who have nothing to wait are hitting the road Those ones who saved, those ones who saved... @@3aHyga Тут не различия. Песня была написана, когда наступила эпоха гласности в СССР при Горбачеве. Поэтому здесь он и поет: "Я ждал это время и вот это время пришло, те кто молчал перестали молчать". Ну и дальше мчатся те, кто первым ухватил эту эпоху, как бы эти люди убежали от нас далеко вперед и их уже не догнать (ну папример потрясающие передачи, которые стали появляется, со свободно мыслящими людьми, Листьев и тд) . А те кто продолжает спать пусть дальше спят, как говорится, спокойной вам ночи.

В ютубе можно найти многих иностранцев, которые снимают реакции на песни группы КИНО. А Металлика вообще испонлила звезду по имени солнце на концерте в России. Цой уже давно пробился популярностью за пределы СНГ.

There is nothing political in the song, in my opinion. This is the lyrics of a falling asleep Russian city. Fading windows in high-rise buildings. Angular industrial shadows. Cooling asphalt. Rare passers-by. Yellow-orange lanterns. Dusk.

Yeah, but he (author of the vid, not Tsoy) didn’t really said it was political, he said Tsoy has this kinda feeling of oppression in his voice, in the mood of the song, which, in my opinion, is spot on. I believe Soviet environment shaped Victor very hard. P.s. Я русский, если ты сомневался(лась).

It's not a reach to say there are political undertones though. For those who want to sleep, let them sleep. I read it as - for those who want to turn away from reality, who close their eyes and their ears - let them be. Especially when he sings about the neighbours.. Modern example. A couple of thousands of people try to protest on the streets... And most russians just see it as disturbance of their peace:) just let them sleep, their night is still peaceful. of course it's just my reading, but mate, to say it's just about a city that's falling asleep.. И воспоминания о таком всегда самые четкие, яркие.. как о важном событии в жизни И душа ещё более отчётливо, чем всегда, болит за Родину и за все, что с ней происходит... Но любить от того ее не перестаешь, а наоборот: любовь усиливается, становится просто невероятных масштабов, такая искренняя, что, кажется, какая бывает только в книгах. Но она есть, и она будет. Yuri Kasparyan (the lead guitarist) is a master of "simplicity" in a way his guitar parts always sound very approachable and you can learn them on any guitar. But this simplicity is soooo catchy and its that feeling you get form it is "why havent I, myself, thought of these progressions before"..

a legend... 30 years since he was gone. this show was made by his son together with a cinema group with a group of victor. it's amazing the stadiums are full, stadiums!!! and after all, half of them are children under 20 years old ..! and it's cool. .this is a legend .... This song was written and released way before the fall of Berlin wall. Since the start of Perestroika a lot of new music appeared, was recorded and released, including some bearing strong political messages. USSR in 80s wasn't as "Totalitarian" as Western people imagine it to be.

Understanding Tsoi in the political sense is the easiest route. I've always understood him in a philosophical and spiritual way. He even claims that he was never political. Even though some of his songs fit in with our agenda, he claims that none of his songs were political because blaming the government was too easy. And I greatly appreciate that in art, since human error tends to repeat itself no matter what costume it puts on. This is about the human soul, as most of his songs were.

@@user-dz2mp1pq4k , мне нравится что спустя много лет люди продолжают слушать Цоя и особенно молодëжь которая даже не застала его времена. А про иностранцев я вообще молчу. Я помню 90-ый год когда сообщили что Виктор погиб, состояние было как- будто родной человек из жизни ушёл.И нас таких много тысяч по стране было. Сейчас ни один исполнитель даже сотой доли его славы не имеет.А ДДТ и Алиса заглохли совсем, да и не те песни уже.

Это соло в финале и есть ключ к пониманию песни. Неспящий ночью герой наблюдает за магией ночной тишины. Ему нравится что вся дневная суета притихла и можно почувствовать собственное соло души =)

Well, average monthly salary in USSR (gross) in 1985 was appox. SUR 200.The price of a 2 rooms (not badrooms) 55 sq,m apartment in Moscow was about SUR 7000. If you need a new car (Lada Riva or Samara) - another SUR 6-7k (or 10-12k - to buy a car immediately at the grey market without 2-3 years of a car's anticipating). A soviet made color tv SUR 900, soviet made VHS tape player SUR 1200, a pair of original Levis SUR250 etc... To be honest, i don't know how to buy it all for 200+200 = SUR 400 monthly family income without loans. I was a schoolkid in the 80s.. and do remember all of these.

I love KINO so much. I was born 14 days after Viktor Tsoy had died. And my dad and uncle really loved this band so I grew up listening to KINO's songs a lot. This year I've attended two KINO's reunion concerts in Saint-Petersburg and it was magic. I remember how I started crying hard when I heard Viktor Tsoy's voice in the arena. I've never heard his voice that loudly before. It fascinated me so much, I immediately started crying, and those were huge tears. And I couldn't stop them. Lots of people around me cried too. This was one of the most amazing and mysterious moments in my life. I've bought a ticket to the next Saint-P concert which will be held on Viktor Tsoy's 60th anniversary. Wow, I can't wait, I'm so excited!

Ну не скажи. Я не могу этого объяснить, но от творчества гр кино прямо таки веет тем временем. Музыка красной линией проходит через весь 20й век, и каждые 10 лет она разная. Так же до 70х годов звучание менялось от страны к стране.

I love tuning in to Piter FM, where I can be sure of a Kino song every couple of hours and lots of other great music. This radio station with its adverts gives scarcely a hint of the war, and makes me optimistic that one day I can return. I do have a family visa valid for a couple more months, but as an English guy I am moderately scared that I could get arrested if I go back now. Final word. Do you like the song Госты? You hardly ever hear it on the radio. It feels like a bit of a lost track. I love this song, and sometimes play it 4 or 5 times back to back. It's quite an easy one for an English guy with basic Russian to sing along to. Long live Viktor Tsoi and group Kino! Hooraaaahhh!

Oh, you've caught that solo right from the beginning! And you understood it right - this solo guitar really lifts the whole song, it adds to the meaning of lyrics, shifting the whole song to another dimention. To me this is an example of perfect solo - laconic, melodic and really brilliant.

В конце соло Каспаряна мне тоже очень нравится. Оно навевает настроение ожидания каких то очень важных перемен в жизни. Даже без слов песни это соло может говорить. Я дал послушать эту песню одной филипинки знакомой. Она не зная слов иммено так и передала свои ощущения.

You have spotted the most wonderful think about this Kino group. "If it was released today"... - yeah, it fits. Tsoi is relevant even in 2021. And thats what makes this band very special and dear to my heart. They were relevant when they recorded this. And they dont loose that feeling. Kino band (Victor Tsoy) was a legend in the end of 80-s and in 90-s in Soviet Union and in post-Soviet states. No-one came even close. But of cause u need to understand the lyrics cause he was a singer of "war" (mostly). And btw try to refrain from any political comments on the collapse of the Soviet Union cause it sounds ridiculous for the generation who actually witnessed it, no-matter are they happy or not about these events from the past. U can just say something vague like - it was a difficult time of radical changes or something like that. And thank you for this reaction!

Нихера не знаю! Я 88 года рождения и с самого детства (спасибо родителям) слушаю Кино. И мой брат 2000 года рождения тоже слушает Кино. Вот тебе 2 поколения, и для нас Цой жив! P/s/ И я уверен мои дети тоже оценят всю эстетику, всю энергию этих треков, ведь я не только дам послушать, но и передам весь нарратив, что смогу, про то время. В принципе, я считаю, это касается очень многих произведений искусства - чтобы по достоинству оценить, не только поверхостный уровень, но и всю глубину, надо понимать контекст и отсылки.

@@FrankValchiria Just to make it clear, there were a lot of us who were delighted to witness that decrepit, maggot-ridden monstrosity known as the USSR, finally draw its last breath. For great many people, the Soviet regime was the nightmare, don't forget that. Viktor Tsoi, btw, was always very critical of the regime, which is crystal clear for anyone familiar with his songs lyrics. Music like this could only appear because the USSR was dying, and by no means thanks to the regime, which was strongly opposed to any sort of "rock music"

This was a humanitarian catastrophe and economic genocide the world has never seen before. If this is something you like, you are a sick person. At least, 80% of the Soviet citizens voted to preserve the Union (not that anyone cared what they had to say back then).

@@niemandkeiner8057 Tsoy always was blatantly apolitical. I believe whatever poltical themes you see in his songs is a projection of your own beliefs. He was a romantic and a philosopher, and strongly believed in personal and spiritual freedom, but he never was against the "regime" per se. And despite authorities being "strongly oposed to any sort of "rock music",as you say, Tsoy had official disks released by the major state studio, and was given an opportunity to do stadium concerts (his show in Olimpiysky was attended by 70,000 people). Which would've been impossible without state authorities approval.

This song was written before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Unfortunately, Victor Tsoy died in car crash in 1990. "Kino" was the most famous rock band in USSR, millions of people liked it. And, i suppose, this song doesn't have any political subtext, Tsoy was absolutely apolitical.
