Kintsugi is a very beautiful idea from Japanese philosophy that tells us that when things break, they can become even more beautiful. All we need is a little effort, and a willingness to let go of the perfection trap.

Repairing broken items is a great idea, even more so when the items are more beautiful afterwards!

Repairing, not neglecting and throwing away. That's real love. Value things (and people) and cherish them instead of believe everything is disposable and replaceable. This culture of consumption where it's easier to get a new one instead of honor what you already have has numbed our capacity of leaning and maturing.

🙌💗 thank you 🙌💗 I participated in a Kintsugi event created by Yoko Ono in the early 2000s. I didn't know about the practice at that time. I was just attracted by the idea. It was so profoundly beautiful! I hope more people in the Western world experience it

@@ssnarashi apologies, you are correct. I misunderstood. I am fascinated with the theme of Kintsugi. Perhaps it’s my own fragmented psyche that is bringing the art style to my attention….. either way I pray this message finds you well!

I don't like this explanation. It feels too... clinical, too sterile, comes off more like reading a textbook than a philosophical exploration.
