How hard is it to set it up after the fact and clean up the mess?

@@randomdeliveryguy Personally, I find it much faster and easier to get the modeling and topology right immediately by using subdivision box-modeling, and then sculpting, rather than sculpting first and then "cleaning up the mess" with retopology--even the gold standard of auto-retopology at the moment, ZRemesher, leaves quite a mess that requires a lot of manual retopology to fix. And doing manual retopology from scratch, without the help of something like ZRemesher, is just not feasible unless you have the privilege of working 8+ hours a day on a single model. I've found this out in recent paid projects, too, I'm not hypothesizing or anything, just speaking from actual experience. And you NEED perfect topology to make other technical tasks like UV mapping and especially rigging less soul-crushing.

@@randomdeliveryguy Original thought here, but the reason why people want to see the wireframe is so they can tell if you actually modeled a thing in a way that it can animate and that you're not actually a fraud who can make a thing look good but then they hire you and find out you don't know how to set the models up for animation.

@@malikoniousjoe An automated one. I don't know if it could work on complex meshes, but I can see it being viable on simple sections.

@@randomdeliveryguy So Maya has Triangulate and Quadrangulate which will as they imply turn ngons into Tris or Quads. Triangulate is generally more successful, as it is cutting them down rather than combining, and Quadrangulate can get some really ugly results when building up from Tris, especially if you are trying to make a symmetrical mesh. It also depends on your intent for the model, because some game engines automatically convert meshes to Tris like Unreal, not that you don’t want good quad edgeflow regardless.

Kirby Squeak Squad also had cool power combinations like fire/ice bomb and fire/ice/thunder sword. I can't really compare it to Kirby64 though, as I've beaten the former game but never played the latter.

I dont know how they do it but they always manage to fuck something up. N64 emulation has been fixed for years and years. I just tested kirby 64 and it works perfectly fine. No idea.

Didn't help that they were using an emulator version probably released a decade ago.

I think it made it kinda cool that the projectile was invisible. The hit scan made it seem like the star was moving faster than light.

Aye, even the sound effects are toned down to hell. Maybe they thought the viewers wouldn't be able to hear them, couldn't hear each other, or they have a fear of any copyright strike.

Nintendo has always been super crazy about copyright striking any and everyone they can, so they may have taken it out for that. On the other hand, I can still hear it at points, which wouldn't make sense if they were trying to appease the Nintendo gods by removing it

They let you basically double, triple and quadruple combine stuff in Star Allies though it's not the same as just mix and matching all the cool powers as Kirby alone
