The sleep ability does have one purpose. The upgraded version gives a buff like the ones from the shop. This means that you can use this a bunch in waddledee town and save a bunch of coins on powers. Just a tiny niche, though.

Hot take: Forgotten Land made sleep good. Circumstantially, it can be used to heal. However, it really great to prepare for bosses, as the Deep Sleep version gives you an infinite supply of health, speed, and attack boosts that only activate when you enter a level/boss fight, and make your other abilities much more powerful. It can double your max health, make your attacks shred bosses, or just help you go fast.

Something I like about Cutter is that is it's a double Ultraman reference; the base form is already an Ultra Seven reference with its single bladed hat, but its evolution is also a reference to Ultraman Zero, Seven's son, who has two cutters positioned in the exact same spot as Cutter's evolution

It made me indescribably happy to play with needle in Forgotten Land, I've always strangely been partial to it and missed it in Robobot and Star Allies. Rolling around as a ball of destruction is so fun and satisfying, and the callback to Swiss-army needle is probably my favorite hat in the game

Tornado was my most consistently enjoyed ability playing through the game. It wasn't particularly useful during boss fights, which I generally used ice for to cheese the "no damage" missions and then morpho sword for the true arena, but it was always fun just zooming through regular levels as an invincible force of nature especially because of the game's mostly horizontal level structures.
