Kirby: Planet Robobot is a platform video game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, released on the Nintendo 3DS in April 2016 in Japan and in June 2016 in North America and Europe. The game includes a multiplayer mode, and is amiibo compatible. New versions of the Kirby, Waddle Dee, King Dedede, and Meta Knight amiibo have been marketed since launch. The game was officially announced during the March 3, 2016 Nintendo Direct
Robots from a company called Halttman Works invade Pop Star. King Dedede and Meta Knight try to evade back but fail. Kirby then sets out to resolve the situation. Soon he meets Susie, the company's executive secretary who tries to stop him from stopping the company from sucking up all the materials necessary for life and mechanizing the planet, but the company had already mechanized almost the entire planet, including some friends of Kirby's like Dedede, Meta Knight and Whispy Woods. After all the adventure Kirby arrives at the Access Ark where he fights with Susie one more time, until her boss tells her to stop. He is Max Halttman, the CEO of the company who fights Kirby and loses. He attempts a last-ditch effort where he summons the most powerful Supercomputer in the world to destroy Kirby, but Susie steals the control helmet just as Halltman tries to use it. Causing him to lose control of his body and the Star Dream Computer to take control of everything. Susie reveals to Kirby that she is Halltman's lost daughter and that her father has been trying to find her all these years, but Star Dream has slowly influenced him to forget about her and start mechanizing planets. Soon Meta Knight arrives with his ship, Halberd and Kirby with their robot copies and merges with the Ship to destroy the computer.
After an uphill battle, the computer reveals his true form, he's a Nova! A wish-granting species of galactic being that first appeared in Kirby Super Star. Soon Kirby destroys it and returns to Pop Star, where everything returns to normal.
The game retains the Kirby: Triple Deluxe engine. The player controls Kirby through six different worlds to save Dream Land from mechanical invasion. Kirby can walk, run, jump, fly (by repeatedly pressing the button) and swallow his enemies. By swallowing some, he can copy their powers (which he can relinquish at any time) and use them against his opponents. During the levels, Kirby must pick up items called "Code Cubes" in order to advance. Just like the Sun Shines in Triple Deluxe, it takes a certain number to be able to face the boss at the end of a zone, and get all the Code Cubes from an area that gives access to an extra level called "EX".
The novelty lies in the Robobot armor. In fact, at certain locations in the stages, Kirby can wield robotic armor and use its power to his advantage. Armor can also analyze enemies and copy their abilities. His "ways", however, are less numerous than Kirby's gifts.
In addition to the story mode, main mode, the game offers three other modes: "Kirby's Blowout Blast", in which Kirby must fight enemies in a three-dimensional environment, "Meta KnightMare Returns" Based on "Meta Knightmare" and "Meta KnightMare Ultra "From Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby Super Star Ultra respectively, where Meta Knight Goes through a much more difficult Adventure, and "The Arena" and "The True Arena", where it is necessary to beat bosses by gaining experience every victory.
