I never knew Kirk Franklin did a cover of September! It is so great!

Earth,Wind & Fire is my all time favorite group. When I heard Kirk did a tribute to them I searched for the video. When I saw the great Maurice White, I screamed. Thank you Kirk for this tribute and I thank God for your ministry.

I can't belive how pumped he gets to praise Him. Its beautiful.

I've served people in Africa as a missionary for over 15 years, I was born white but have been bornagain into the Kingdom of God. Can we just be the Body of Christ and let go of the hatred?? Kirk is giving credit where credit is due. He says at the beginning of the video that it's a tribute and at the end he say "I got this from you." pointing the man on his right. That man is Maurice White, the lead singer for Earth, Wind & Fire. Mid-way through the video you see Mr. White arrive at the studio.

I cried when they announced that Maurice had passed away. That was devastating for me being a long time EWF fan literally my whole life. I grew up on that band's music . Great job Kirk.

Found this by total accident looking for September covers. I've listened to this several times a day since then. Such a great cover, and such a blessing to me. I crave those positive and joyful influences in my life and I"m thankful for Kirk, all those that worked on this, and Maurice White.

That was fantastic. Its been some time since I heard from Earth Wind and Fire. I still have their albums. I use to dance the night away and at other times prayed while listening to their songs of hope and inspiration. What a fantastic group. I guess the days of group like them are gone forever. Thankfully we still have their music. Great collaboration Kirk!

Yo I'm not a christian anymore but Philip Bailey became a christian. He also had a christian CD back in the day (meaning before the 2000s). There was this song called either 'We've got the Victory or Triumph in Christ Jesus'. If those aren't the title I know they were in the chorus of the song. That was my christian jam. I still like some christian music though I'm no longer a believer.

Wonderful! Love this rendition. It really reminds me of my "September" in high school when, in my deepest moments of depression, a class mate said some very kind and encouraging words. Some how I felt the Lord's loving touch and knew he was there watching over me.
