Kirsten Dunst joins British GQ as she revisits some of the most notable TV & Film characters in her career so far: from playing Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man to her leading role in portraying the Queen of France in Marie Antoinette.
“Tobey [Maguire] and I had amazing chemistry together,” explains Dunst as she reminisces on her time filming Sony Pictures’s Spider-Man. Reflecting on the iconic Spider-Man kiss with Tobey, Kirsten reveals just how difficult it was to get the perfect shot: “Tobey was getting water up his nose, he could barely breathe. There was torrential rain (that they made) and I was freezing, but it looked great!” Watch the full episode of British GQ’s Iconic Characters, as Kirsten Dunst breaks down her most iconic roles in TV & Film.

It's SO refreshing to see a child star who grew up to be a normal, functional adult, still acting, so naturally talented, NOT a nepo baby, totally unproblematic, just a normal person with a good head on her shoulders who happens to be a famous actress. And to top it off she's talented and she makes great film choices. She's a rare gem in a town like Hollywood. If more actors were like her, people wouldn't hate celebrities so much.

And being known as Mary Jane for so long with that many impecable performances even as a child? I usted to think some actors deserved more. Her being in Interview, Little Women and Jumanji marked my teenage years, she's incredible. I love how she can do an understated drama, weird concept movies, teenage comedies and action films, she's has an incredible range and feels like a different person in every role, and starting so young!

I saw Kirsten in Phoenix years ago. I actually recognized her Mom & opened the door for her, looked at the car she went to, & Kirsten was driving. The TV gives her absolutely no justice - she is the most beautiful person I've ever seen. I am so happy to see her in any movie because she is so talented.

I love hair tucked into turtlenecks! People get so bent out of shape about it, but, I think it’s devastatingly chic. Kirsten always looks cool and a bit undone so no surprise she co-signs the turtleneck as hair accessory moment.

Nice video - her greatest role is in Crazy/Beautiful - re Marie Antoinette, I was surprised that Sophia took such an insular approach, without even the irony of Marie's oblivious life in relation to what was happening to everyone else outside in France - I wonder sometimes if that film was Sophia somehow processing her own traumatic experience w Godfather 3, in which case I could understand completely such a perspective
