Grew up watching Kirsten in Jumanji and Bring It On-I remember seeing The Virgin Suicides when I was about 12 years old in 2002 and falling in love with that movie. It's been really nice watching Kirsten and the choices she's made as an actress over the years. She's one of the best actresses working today IMO, and possibly the best of her peers.

I like how Sofia glances at Kirsten when she's talking. so cute.

Sofia is such a good director. Lost in Translation and Virgin Suicides. I'm definitely going to watch this one too.

Kirsten Dunst is amazing!! Loved her in Virgin Suicides. So many people complain about how dim the lighting was in the movie. I don't think electricity was around during that time period.

I watched this movie and half way through I realised that Kirsten D could have played any of the girls in her career. I remember her as innocent young one in Little women, then the Elle character here, which could have been her in 'get over it' and she is more established now. Basically Elle could have been KD with short hair in Get over it. So good to see her grown up and normal.

The host is desperately trying to force a feminist reading of the film but that was never Sofia's angle.

I could totally love either or both of these women.

Much respect to Sofia Coppola here for not jumping at any of this idiotic interviewer’s bait. He keeps constantly trying to get her to not only simplify her film into one that is aggressively political (which it honestly isn’t, as anyone has seen the film knows) but also tries to get her to bash Eastwood and Siegel for the film they made. Coppola never falls for it and always talks about her film as she intended it and not once does she say anything negative about Siegel. I’m fact in other press for this movie I see Coppola being very complimentary towards Siegel’s work. This interviewer is really unprofessional in his aggressively political questioning. He would be more suited to a news outlet, a job I have to imagine he’s desperate for after seeing this and his The Loudest Voice episode which Russell Crowe wisely just walked out on. It wouldn’t surprise me if the interviewer has never actually seen the Siegel version of The Beguiled, as all his accusations towards it are unfounded.

i was excited to see this movie but i found it very anti climatic. I dont see how the soldier was so "manipulative" of all the women... I thought he was just trying to be a decent and careful guest in his vulnerable position and when he was on the mend, he point blank told the women he would like to stay -- he was very upfront about it. the point where he betrayed Edwina was a catalyst and to my mind plain stupid as opposed to manipulative and machevelian. It was a very beautiful and aesthetic movie though.

From Virgin Suicides to this film...Virgin homicides. Amazing insight in the subtle brutality of the female prowess both in its inward and outward destructiveness.

So...a guy who's pushed down the stairs, passes out and wakes up to find his leg's been cut off is misogynistic in his anger towards the cutter. Another reason for me to see this film again, I guess.

Is this interview set in a police state? Or is this just the new Americana?
