A LONG WEEKEND IN THE LAKE DISTRICT: Our peaceful retreat in the English countryside// We are back today with a video from the beautiful Lake District. Our wonderful holiday cottage was located in Kentmere with walks just in front of the doorstep. We certainly made use of that and explored the area and went on 2 gorgeous hikes. We also visited Grasmere, home to the English poet William Wordsworth and also stopped in Ambleside - 2 places you should visit if you decide to go to the Lake District. We hope you like the video! We all need a Joerg in our lives, bless him for having to hike twice to get that beautiful drone footage. What a good job he did. Making the fire and cooked the dinner. What a gentleman and what a lovely couple you are and a pleasure to watch. It ends too soon! After seeing Miss Potter the film of the life and times of Beatrix Potter I have wanted to visit Hilltop where she lived in the Lake District for a long time now. The scenery is so stunning. Carole Horton , you have expressed every thought that was in my head , growing up Ireland 🇮🇪 sadly with regrets I never did make to the Lake District Makes me so sad today because my father went very often after he returned from the Middle East after the 2nd world 🌍 war Going to the Lake District calmed his soul , an most important of all, Kirsten an Joerg so blessed to have this beautiful vlog During the isolation period of the Pandemic , Kirsten an Joerg really calm my soul for sure .

Love the Lake District, have spent a lot of time walking there, Windermere and Kendal, looks so lovely hope you are both keeping well , my husband and I have been together almost 40 years and love him more than ever, sadly he was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma in 2014, but making the most of everyday, your videos lift me up so much ❤ 🤍 💙

I'm British, I've lived in England all my life and I still get lost when I'm out of my local area, and yet Joerg seems to find the best tourist spots all around the country without any trouble. He'll have to give me some tips. Lol

Oh, I did not want this video to end. Eventhough I love your red lipstick, you look so lovely au naturale, Kirsten! Joerg was so funny mumbling in German and you suggested he speak English on our behalf! 🤣 The drone is perfection and has added a whole new dimension to your vlogs! We traveled through that area in the train, but alas, we could not stop due to a strict itinerary. As we needed to eventually return to the states, it nearly did me in. I adored visting Grasmere both times I was in the Lake District. I saw Rydal Mount my first visit (the garden was gorgeous!) and Dove Cottage my second. Found the Gingerbread shop charming but the gingerbread itself very stout. Enjoyed lunch/tea at Grasmere Garden Village both times. So enjoyable to reminisce as I traveled back again with you virtually. Thank you.

Wow the Lake District is certainly beautiful. Puts me in mind of Pride and Prejudice when Elizabeth (1995) went with her aunt an Uncle to visit the area The drone is fantastic you can see so much more Fish and chips nothing like it we have that quite often nothing like eating it from the package I do that even if we are home lol Brings back lots of memories when as a child Father would buy for us Those little villages are just lovely I have always wanted a stone house they are so charming Thank you guys just love going along with you in your travels Cheers🇦🇺🌺

Oh what a lovely video. You had lots of sunshine. I loved seeing all the beautiful stacked stone buildings and fences. You are showing me places I’ve never been to even after living there for two years. I so appreciate it. 😍😍

Hi Kirsten & Joerg. It is so wonderful, pleasing and comfortable watching your channel. Thank you for your competence in handling the camera with the viewers in mind. Many you tubers move their camera too fast so much so that viewers will get a headache immediately.

I wanted to reach through the screen and snatch some of your fish and chips haha. But I would be adding a lot of malt vinegar though. A few years ago, I was invited to a meet and greet of English expats living here in Tuscany. It was the best fish and chips I have ever eaten, and I grew up in England. Then the cook came out to make sure we were all happy, and he was Italian! Haha. Italians can cook anything well.

That place looks so cozy. Don’t forget a cuppa! I had been to Windermere, it was absolutely beautiful. Snogging? Look away look away! Not because you were lazy......gosh no. You two are so chilled, so very very chilled. I would love to see you two at a...............concert. And not opera! It’s beautiful, you two are funny. Lol, always a cuppa. Oh believe me, we aren't always that chilled, Joerg has a very stressful job and I mostly work until 1pm at night with KZfaq :) I think you see about 20% of our lives. Have a nice Sunday.

Your drone certainly adds a lot to your videos. I loved watching the aerial views. Your little cottage is so sweet and cosy. I thought you were being very ambitious going for a six mile hike, shame you had to curtail the hike, but you didn't give up, just changed course a little in your plans. The villages are just so pretty aren't they. I really enjoyed the trip and can't wait to see what the planned visit will be tomorrow!
