I wanted the beige style so bad but last month I was in IKEA and the information desk told me it was discounted in the US same with brown/black. So happy he was wrong and it is restocked🎉

Just found your channel (from the United States) and I am so glad I did - I have an older PAX unit in my dressing room, but next year I will be downsizing but plan on buying a new PAX system - I too was thrown off by the corner unit - until I went and saw it. Will be watching more of your videos.

I had a corner wardrobe, great with 1 rail for long dresses/coats or even 2 rails for shorter items. At first I had it with the shelves as shown in your vid, and then bought the drawers that can go in the smaller section. I wouldn’t recommend the drawers though as they are quiet small and take up more room than they give, so stick with just the shelves

Thanks for taking time to make this video. I've recently heard awful things about the quality of Ikea furniture going far downhill since prices came down this year. I'd really love to hear from anyone who has bought the Pax and Komplement system in 2024. How is the quality. I expect not as good as years gone by but good enough?

My tip is buy, try and take back. I bought masses of fixtures and fittings and just returned if not suitable. IKEA has one of the best return refund policies so take advantage.

On the tray liner the pattern is on the reverse, so can choose plain or patterned

Never seen pax in beige 🤯🤯🤯 Would be a perfect match for our Bedroom, but here in Germany theres just white, grey and "wood", makes me sad 😔

Just discovered your channel. I am going to be doing PAX in the next few months in our reach in closets. This is a great video. I am going back and forth between the grey and the white. I naturally lean to the grey but I worry that like the black it will be discontinued and if you ever need new pieces you may be out of luck in the future. Although the grey looks stunning! I can not wait to watch the rest of your videos.

In the US, the grey has sold out and is unavailable. I suspect ours are stuck on a ship somewhere in the Atlantic!

Amazing. Was so disappointed they discontinued the black/brown. I have one and originally wanted to extend in the dressing area. But as I have the mirror doors covering them I’m tempted now to get the dark grey to finish but keep the doors off. I already have a few pax in other cupboards (50x35) they are great for extra storage and hanging space, and did get a dark grey it’s really nice for guest coats and my travel suitcase (even though it does sit in a cupboard)

I need to cut about 6-8 inches off the bottom of the back panel. Is that possible without comproming stability?

I’ve trimmed a couple of the original pax’s down. I always then add extra fixings to the wall.

@@oyukiryour circumstance must be different then mine. I want to make a cutout above the holes in the back panel. The cutout needs to be above 6 to 8 inches vertically so my baseboard heater can breath. I'm trying to make a makeshift shoe warmer.

Sad there are no details on the 13in depth units being restocked in the United States. The deeper units just will not fit in my closet.

@@ajx2463 an employee at my local store said the 13in depth frames were being redesigned to make them easier to put together (???) and that they would be released after that redesign has been completed. Not sure if I can believe that.

We are trying to do our closets for our new home and cannot get all the sizes that we planned a couple months ago. We have had to do a complete redesign as a result! We are in the US and the cart pitched half our purchase out!

If you can fit them in yes. Lots more storage in the 237 we have in the granny annex.

First thing: they stick out of the package… it will probably go away in a few weeks, but not everyone has the luxury of letting them open for 1-2 weeks..

I can't find 29 inch glass drawers. I hate that they have no stock anywhere.

I have to say, very much regret my glass front drawers. If your clothes aren’t laid out like a shop it just looks messy. I’ve just added two new solid front drawers in mine.

This is really good thank you very much. I’m going to have one in my son bedroom and I was thinking maybe belt he’s got a built-in app in order with an emoji so it will be really good for his room. I’m going to get the 75 x 58 and 200 height and then I think it’s I’ve got a cupboard in my hand

Only white available in Canada. Too bad they didn't fix the shelves. Totally unacceptable for a shelf to sag under it's own weight with nothing on it.

The frame is the same as it’s always been ? I had to trim a door, that was hallow inside but ok. I’ve not noticed any dip in quality in the last 12 / 18 months. I’ve recently cut up a Pax and even after that it was very secure. I replaced a 1970’s fitted wardrobe with a new PAX. The pax was exactly the same as the 1970’s cheap wardrobe I ripped out, that had lasted 50 years. I then copied the method used to make it built in. Will easily last another 50 years.

@@kirstygriffiths749 I visited a showroom the other day in Birmingham (Wednesbury) and the quality is a lot worse than it was the last time I bought one. The sides used to be solid particle board but now have a honeycome structure to them. The same as the doors. There used to be some weight to it all but the ones in the showroom were terrible quality. I'll re-visit them as an option because I really want it to work. Another trip to the showroom. If you read online, there's lots of discussion about the reduction in quality. It explains why they were out of stock for so long as they were changing the design of the structure of them.

@@TheNomadicTrader the frame is chipboard ? I’ve just cut one up? No honeycomb in it? The door is hallow? What are people doing to them to moan about the quality ? I spend time securing these and re-enforcing them to the wall. No issues & I’m about to cut up my 19th Pax ( that’s in the last 3 years) I’m not sure what people expect for £70.

@@kirstygriffiths749 you seem to trying to convince me that my experience is wrong? Are you buying old stock or second hand? Also, £70? You can't buy a PAX wardrobe for £70 what are you talking about? A 150cm wardrobe I've spaced up is £408, a far cry from the £70 you're throwing around. Notice how both the frame and doors are honeycomb structure. Copied from the IKEA website: Wardrobe frame Particleboard, Particle- and fibreboard with honeycomb paper filling (100% recycled paper), Plastic edging, Plastic edging, Paper foil Door Filling material: Honeycomb structure paper filling (100% recycled)

@@kirstygriffiths749 are you buying second hand or old stock? Also, you can't buy a PAX wardrobe for £70. The 150cm one I've priced up is coming in at £408. I've copied this text from the materials section on the IKEA website, notice how both the doors AND the frame are now honeycomb structure. Wardrobe frame Particleboard, Particle- and fibreboard with honeycomb paper filling (100% recycled paper), Plastic edging, Plastic edging, Paper foil Door Board on frame: Particleboard, Fibreboard, Plastic edging, Paper foil Filling material: Honeycomb structure paper filling (100% recycled) That's word for word. The IKEA PAX wardrobe I have is solid particleboard doors and frames, the ones on display in IKEA Wednesbury are very poor quality in contrast. You can't tell me my experience is wrong just because it's different from yours, that's very ignorant and shows a lack of emotional maturity.

I did a Pax in my bedroom on an outside wall and it suffered horrible damp😢. The whole backboard and wall was green. Just unfortunate I guess.. anyone else have this issue ?

That sounds like you have an issue with damp in your walls. Too much moisture coming in will make chip board go mouldy. Get some round asap! You can get all sorts of nasties from mould.

Wow you are butchering those names! 😅 Good and informative vid non the less. Thank you for this! Edit: Just an FYI: They switched the dark brown with that plastic, cheap looking gray and I bet that's what made people upset (so the dark is not "back in stock"). I was massively upset with that.
