To be fair, veneers were always a luxury service. That’s like saying someone had to buy a barely functional 1999 Subaru instead of a farari. No, there are Toyotas available, aka there is regular dental care and work that is still function and probably more suited to you And most of the issue isn’t the dentists though. It’s the cost of school: To become a dentist that’s like 300- 500k in debt. The kids who can afford that aren’t becoming dentists. They need to pay it off somehow and price in accordance to that. If America provided cheaper education and covered dental under standard insurance, these would not be issues

Nah nah nah. It's not as though those techs have the quality or safety to be able to administer those cosmetics. It's not about money it's oral care. It's not even a risk worth taking considering that the results will be more costly to repair than if they had gone to a certified dentist in the first place. It's the same in construction. People want to take shortcuts because they cost less (short term) but will inevitably cost way way more to fix (long term). Risk is calculated. Calculate well.

Everyone saying dentistry is sooo expensive…. Anything medical is expensive the issue is insurance. Dental insurance hasn’t updated the coverage or maximums since the 70s… Also people view dentistry as unnecessary or a luxury or not a priority when it’s your health. If you needed surgery for something serious would you not do it just because it’s expensive? No you would find a way to do it. People need to prioritize things that are actually important and needed.

Dentists in USA make MILLIONS. Your prices are way too much. When dentists trained in u.s or UK go back to work in the countries they live, like Istanbul, India etc. the prices are sooo much cheaper for high quality work! Charging $2,000 to $3,000 for one veneer where you just clean the tooth , glue, use light and a $100 dollar veneer. Makes me so angry at the disgusting prices you charge. How about giving back one day a week to people who are in desperate need of fillings, extraction, braces, or dentures, bridges. Nothing fancy. But no of course you and your practice won't.

It’s a direct result of overpriced dental care leading people to make rash, desperate decisions. In 2024, a full set of veneers should be $5,000.00 tops in the US. Instead it runs upwards of $2,000.00 a tooth. That’s utterly ludicrous. Yes, dentistry involves skill and following directions, but you’re not nano-engineering integrated circuits in people’s mouths. Maybe there should be a veneer tech licensing in place for people to work in collaboration with dentists to bring costs down. It seems like dentists just want more money instead of people with healthier and better looking smiles.

The customers seem happy. They're all consenting adults. We should stay out of it. It's their money and their mouth. Some licensed dentist can mess up your mouth too. My dad has been struggling for years getting customized dentures that actually fit and doesn't hurt. His dentist office doesn't know what the heck they're doing. All they want is his money.

It is literally illegal to practice dentistry without a license. It is also illegal to pretend to be a medical professional (it's fraud). The rap sheet here is assault and battery (even if someone consents it is assault and battery to practice any medical procedure without license), practicing medicine without a license, fraud.

Are you kidding me. If you put a veneer over a cavity, you can DIE. The infection goes to your brain or heart and you will go septic. There’s nothing that they can do after that. It will take a week of suffering before you die a painful death. It’s called septic shock. A dentist where I live did shotty work and put a crown over cavities. The girl died and the dentist got manslaughter.
