@@taurusbutterflies i hate that it ended up as a tragedy, as greatas it could've been.

@@prachi._. yeah. every relationship in star wars ended in tragedy, alongside the fact that ben finally escaped the abuse that created kylo ren, found someone who saw him for him and not just someone who could be an extension of the vader/skywalker legacy and rey was left all alone on another desert planet (one that luke wanted to leave in the beginning just like rey needing to leave jakku and all it represented behind to do something for herself) counting the days since the other half of her died.. it would’ve been nice to see them both be together, finally (and not ben thrown off a cliff as soon as they are together) able to take down the cause of all their pain. the message of them both not needing to have a legacy attached to them for them to be who they are would’ve also been nice but instead we got rey palpatine/skywalker :/ rey nobody or just rey is a beautiful way to signify rey just being rey and that anyone can do and be anything. sorry for the rant ahaha i don’t think i’ll ever get over how tros handled the characters and stories.. :’)

@@taurusbutterflies it's okay. i understand. i was so frustrated myself by the entire plot that it had boiled down to. the concept of dyad felt so powerful and strong. it felt powerful enough that ben, who had suffered so much, chose to go against everything he was pushed to believe in when he was at his weakest and when rey who felt like a nobody in this world had a purpose out of nowhere. it was no longer the battle of just blood, it felt like the force did have some play in the nature other than being just a legacy thing. it would've been something too wonderful to build upon. it felt like a rarity, it felt so unique and special as them, as rey and ben. even if they could've run away to a desert planet and lived a quite life with each other as powerful beings who chose peace and quiet and love, it would've been too great. it felt like it was too much too ask apparently. just them acknowledging their feelings felt too big of a win with the way they ended their story tragically. i thought we wouldnt even get that. I'm so happy we got that atleast but i do keep deluding myself that they're together somewhere. that ben is alive and happy and free of someone who dictates who he is and that rey has someone to love and someone who loves her and protects her even if she's strong for the rest of the world.

@@prachi._. beautifully said :’) that’s all we can do. i also choose to believe they’re happy, living a quiet life together and working through their traumas. that makes me smile and gives me hope in myself as i’ve gone through similar traumas as rey and ben. it’s tough to see death as an ending for someone who went through a paralleled experience of your own life, so the alternative of making your own ending (which is very fitting to them a characters and what we’ve both said) is what i chose to do
