Yeah that was 100% on purpose and a reference to her mom telling her she "runs at a different speed than everyone else" which makes her super isolated, but when she meets Falin she starts moving on beat with everyone else cause she finally has a connection with someone outside her own family.

Just thinking about a Marcille where the winged lion succeeded and she's shown reminiscing at the table during the local cuisine chapter, it's empty but for the remaining ramen bowls, or maybe she took Laios' "advice" to heart and made doppelgangers of them but they're not quite right just like her fake dad... But the party broke that cycle and Laios, as the final dungeon lord, gathered everyone to have a feast as shown on the cover page for the final chapter. I love dinner tables...

yes!!! IMO izutsumi was a completely necessary addition to the group because i don't think any of the others- had they also been tasked with this job- would have been able to kill laois immediately without hesitation. i mean, it goes without saying that marcille would rather do literally anything than watch her friends die, even if she suspected something was off i don't think she could have gone through with it in time. senshi doesn't have the strength of will/bloodthirst to go through something like that either. chilchuck is the most cynical, and therefore the most pragmatic of the group, but even if he had noticed something was off and tried to end it i don't think he's physically capable of doing the damage, since he's not a combatant. but izutsumi has known laois long enough to sense something's off about him, but no so long that her heart is clouding her judgement. she's quick and deadly and goes for the kill before the lion even registers the threat, and it is so *so important* that she did, because if the others hadn't realized something was off in time the lion would have been able to go topside without a single person standing in his way- who knows if he even would have summoned monster!laois. we know that this was the lion's original plan from his words "the last thing he did was ruin my plans" referring to laois's kill order. idk it just felt like such a uniquely izutsumi job and really made me appreciate the foresight ryoko kui has as a storyteller!

It's so good how it slowly ramps up the cosmic horror aspects. It's like boiling a frog.

Our boy can finally rest after 1000 years and while Dalgel is gone his kingdom and people is safe and can even continue to live a normal life, which was his original wish. Plus it is only implied that he is dead, we can still choose to believe that he is alive.

@@xuanlocnguyen2002 Oh, he's still alive, that's unambiguous... but with his "desire" eaten by the demon of the dungeons, he has literally had all wants taken from his soul- the difference between victory and defeat, success and failure, desire and fulfillment... all of it is gone, replaced by a meaningless existence that can't think of a reason to care between living and dying. It's effectively total comatose ego-death. The guy wouldn't even bother sucking in his next breath if it wasn't an autonomic function beyond his control to stop.

He did execute some people of the Golden Kingdom for helping King Delgal escape to the surface. He also imprisoned the Kingdom's citizens in their own place and wouldn't repent upon Laios' word. After all of these, a peaceful death is quite nice for his sins.
