I'm so sorry you lost your lover friend confidant.... it gives you no peace to know that she's no longer in pain or any kind of suffering because we are selfish and want them here with us.... but know that you will be together again. There is a wonderful book by Richard Bach Titled Illusions. There are lots and lots of wonderful quotes, one that may fit here,. Don't be dismayed at good bys for where moments or lifetimes, true friends will meet again." When young people die, I am always reminded of the prayer from the movie Red Dawn (1984) near the end.... "These were good friends. Take them away from here... someplace safe... where this world's war never happened. And as we remember... please let them forget, O Lord... so they can be little again." I hope you find peace.

He sang this song to me back in highschool, our classmates cheering and clapping, some on the watch out for any teachers coming in. When a teacher finally came in, she giggled at the sight of me and that boy. 10 years later, that boy is now my husband, now with a family of cats. My husband still puts this song on during our roadtrips ❤

I'm a 44 year old black man (that just loves music). I grew up a dreamer. I used to sit around at my part time job during my first year in college at, Winn-Dixie in SC, and this song came on over the little radio they had. After thinking I would never find her, I ended up meeting my wife. This song takes me back, but to more than just that moment. Good times the 90's were.

the 90s and early 00's was a really interesting time in terms of pop culture (I am of the belief that Western culture peaked around the mid 2000's and that is backed up by the fact that (for the most part) the amount of quality bands/songs/movies has gone down dramatically since then. Interesting that this same time period coincided with the end of the Cold War where the US emerged as the dominate superpower, but since then somewhere along the way the "High" wore off and things seem to be trending down ever since.

My childhood best friend would literally fight me if I started to play this on guitar at our rock band practices. It was always so funny when we'd be playing a gig at a bar and I'd get a group of hot girls to request that song just to see him fight an internal battle in his mind whether to, impress the hot chicks, or stick to his principles, but little did I know he was fighting a bigger battle in his head. He hung himself 8 years ago, but every time I hear this song, it brings me right back to all those laughs we had with him and this song. John I know you're dying to play this song for me now. I love you and miss you bro.

It's the fact that it's about youthful romance (youthful as signified by "you father's map", indicating they are still probably teens); combined with the nature imagery (milky twilight, bearded barley, trail, moonlit floor, silver moon sparkling, treehouse and hanging tire would be outside and likely in the woods), which is romantic, and suggests youthtful connection to nature because young people spend more time than adults in those outside, natural settings, plus, the connection to nature suggests a more innocent time of man, when there was less technology, and innocent sexuality (just kissing, open hand).

It's Songs Like This maybe you haven't heard it in a while but when you do. Time stands still for a moment. It immediately takes you back to a Feeling of thought a memory. It is impossible to think anything negative when you're in that zone. The power of music is the most amazing thing we have on Earth. Songs like this that make me forget about my busy life where I have to be when and how all the sudden doesn't matter for a few minutes. Or maybe I'll just sit and listen to this song over and over and it doesn't get old. It's a temporary fix to a life full of problems that will always be there day after day year after year. That's life and you deal with it and you move on and you do the best you can and songs like this warm your heart and give you a feeling of peace and calmness that you can only feel through music. It's something personal or the best part is sharing it with a friend or loved one and letting them know how it makes you feel and why you like that song explaining that keeps us communicating something this world is lacking right now if we could all just take time out feel the feeling that I feel when I listen to a song like this. Would stop a lot of problems in situations that add stress to our daily life

Lyrics Kiss me out of the bearded barley Nightly beside the green, green grass Swing, swing, swing the spinning step You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight Lead me out on the moonlit floor Lift your open hand Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling So, kiss me Kiss me down by the broken tree house Swing me upon its hanging tire Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat We'll take the trail marked on your father's map Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight Lead me out on the moonlit floor Lift your open hand Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling So, kiss me Kiss me beneath the milky twilight Lead me out on the moonlit floor Lift your open hand Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling So kiss me So, kiss me So kiss me So kiss me

My favourite song back in 1997. Still fresh like good old days.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have had this song 'stuck' somewhere in my head, for a long time. Whenever I listen to it, another layer- ''unfolds''. This is such a brilliant and magical song, I think the 'resonance' it produces is exactly what people need to hear these days. Just imagine what life would be like, if the Entire-World swung to this vibration... 🙌💕

I remembered back in 1999 when we didn't have youtube, spotify or apple itunes yet. We were working on our senior project in college (involves coding). My group mate only had 1 CD and we played this all night while working. Late night coding sessions always brings me back to this track. Thank you for the music that got us through our college senior project.

I lost the love of my life 3 years ago, this song gives me solace. She’s not dead, she just didn’t love me anymore. Doesn’t make it any easier but, allows me to feel the emotion without losing control.

It was April 2004. I woke up really early in a cold and grey Saturday just to use the internet (dial connection). Before turning the PC on I decided to have some hot chocolate and watch MTV. It was playing REM - It's The End of The World As We Know It, the videoclip brought me so much joy. I was 10 back then. The next song was Kiss Me, I fell in love with the song without knowing what love was.

A vibe dessa música é tão boa. Toda vez que a ouço, parece que me conecto com meu eu de 99, onde minha maior preocupação, era quantas bolas de gude eu iria perder, jogando apostado com meus amigos. 🥺👊🏽 Volto no tempo legal.
@ReebecaAndrade6 ай бұрын

I was sick kid in the country. We had to drive almost 2 hours one way to make me better 3 times a week since I was 8 to 18. My beautiful strong Mother drove me all those miles and this is one of those songs that'd come on whatever radio station she had on. She loved music. When I got older I wanted to play my songs. She was eager to hear what I liked. But throughout the long trips I'd crave her nostalgia and this banger of a song seemed to always be on when we tuned into her station. I wouldn't have survived childhood much less teens if I didn't get the shots she took me to get. She has survived cancer twice. We often go to the park with my son and play together. She made it just like me. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of the times when it was just me and her and my future was bleak. I love you Mommacita.

This is nostalgia extraordinaire! While grocery shopping today, this song started playing in the background. It was like a time machine had just thrown me back to the late 90's and my early teenage years. I knew the song but couldn't remember the title, so I walked to a quiet area around the store, pulled out my phone and said "Ok Google, what's the song", and the title popped up. With a smile on my face, I quickly went on KZfaq and have had this video on replay. I had 5 people approach me simply to say what a beautiful song this is. God take me back to the '90s!

Oh, it is true that time and age catches us all and the best most of us can hope for is that there was a period in our lives when we were absolutely gorgeous. Twenty-six years ago, Leigh Nash graced us with that angelic voice and OMG those eyes. Rachael Leigh Cook, also in this video promoting "She's All That" came closer than most with those eyes of hers, too. We've all grown up, but thank God for video.
