I also noticed on the zim kit that it comes with the 1 pc turret, and pre bent wire frames for the rear deck screenjust, I know that will make you very happy !

Great video and I'm glad I found this channel. Side note about rivet counting/historical accuracy bullshit: Porsche and Henschel never developed a turret or gun for the Tiger 1 program. Krupp was responsible for the turret construction and the .88mm main gun.

Audie Murphy Thank you. And I did know that about the Krupp turret, although I can't remember if I said something to the contrary in this video.

You'd never guess that the turret and Henschel's hull were designed by different people (were they? Who designed the Tiger 1? Is anything known of him/her/them?)

Great review as always! I love the super detailing with all the PE included. I was looking at the new molded on zimmerit kit and it looks to be a lot more simplified than this one. Too bad Dragon couldn't have combined the zimmerit parts with the goodies of this one. Oh the sprue that has the scissor periscope/binocular on it also has the tripod parts included (thin parts that you mentioned). That sprue is found in the German Command Staff figure kit, interesting that it's been put in this kit too. Cheers Adam!

GeekyRocket That's what those parts are. Yeah the detail in this is great looking, but a little intimidating for me. Dragon seem to make some odd decisions in regards to how they make their kits.

I find it interesting that the whole Tiger P fad kind of died down and the only kit I know that was made recently was by Amusing Hobby. It would be great if MENG or Takom would give this model a good swing.

Would there be benefit in gluing the mesh surround on to the mesh before cutting it from the PE sheet? PS. Great vid as always.

Another nice review of a kit I have...... The major difference between this one and the older Dragon kit is this one has the turret escape hatch which the other kit didn't. This version is correct with the escape hatch, the Tiger P prototype had pistol ports.

milky55way2012 I see that you're saying. The original tooling only allowed for a prototype or initial configuration on the turret, whereas Tiger 003 has a turret with an escape hatch.

Correct, you can see it in photos in the book...."Combat History of Schwerer Panzerjager Abteilung 653 which included the 003 command tank. When Dragon released the earlier kit, they didn't know about the escape hatch until someone pointed it out from the photo. I'm not sure but it might be on David Bryden's Tiger web site?

Hi from Belgium wich colors you used? the classical dark yellow from tamiya then the red brown and dark green? I don't know the guzen colors. thank for answer . bye

I'm really thinking about getting the tiger p with zimmerit. I've just ordered the panther ausf f with the L/100 hopefully it will be a fun build.My downfall is PE parts especially the small ones are such a pain.

Panzer Jager You and me both with the tiny PE, and certain kits do have more than others. Premiums seem to pride themselves on their use of PE compared to standard or smart kits that have the styrene option. I would think the majority of what's in that Zim Tiger (P) would be identical to this kit.

I had never heard of this vehicle but I like it, would it be possible to maybe 3d print the turret? is it not there yet.

Ian E I think it would be, problem is to get the fidelity I want I need to use a new type of printer that works with liquid resin, and they're expensive. Either that or I will build it with a standard Henschel Tiger Turret.

Hey Adam,I bought the tiger P kit ,its a bit of a trade off,you're right,you do not get the metal barrel or the magictracks,but you do get two tiger P mantlets ,one with zim and one without and the kit seems to be a better build.

Is this the Tiger P with zimmerit kit or the new boxing of this one? If it was this exact kit one could combine that Zimmerit mantlet with 6700 to make Carius's 217.

Hello Adam,the kit number is 6797 .You are better versed in dragon armor chronology than I am.I'm thinking of doing something similar to a dragon Tiger 1 that I have in my stash when I get around to it.All the best.
