Sebenarnya sistem kuota untuk kemasukan matriks dah lama dah dihapuskan pada tahun 2008 tapi pada tahun 2013, MIC meminta kerajaan supaya mengembalikan semula sistem kuota sebab kemasukan kaum India ke matriks semakin menurun semenjak menggunakan sistem merit. Nampaknya sistem merit ni tak seindah yang disangkakan.

Soalan adik itu patut ditanya untuk memberi kefahaman kepada semua berkenaan meritokrasi dan kuota..Adik perlu juga mempertikaikan bantuan yang diberi kepada sekolah persendirian cina yang tidak mengikuti silibus kebangsaan tetapi diberi bantuan kerajaan, padahal kemudahan sekolah itu adalah jauh lebih baik dari sekolah kebangsaan sendiri..bagaimana dikatakan adil untuk laksanakan meritokrasi jika sekolah itu sendiri jauh tidah sama kemudahannya antara sekolah di bandar dan di kampung

Utk makluman saudara, sekolah persendirian baik jenis Cina, Tamil atau antarabangsa tidak menerima bantuan tetap dari kerajaan langsung. Dana pembinaan dan operasi sekolah persendirian majoritinya dr sumbangan masyarakat dan yuran murid2. Jangan silap, SRJKC/T itu sekolah kerajaan. Jangan lupa juga , mengikut perhitugan yg terkini dari Kementerian Pelajaran, lebih kurand 15% dari murid2 di SRJKC terdiri dari anak2 Melayu dan tren peratusannya meningkat setiap tahun. Bagi sesetengah SRJKC terutamanya di kws kampung, anak2 Melayu adalah majoriti, iaitu lebih ramai daripada murid2 kaum lain. Lapangkan masa suatu hari, lawatlah SRJKC terdekat utk tinjau sendiri fakta ini.

Murid2 yg bijak dan tekun belajar tdk sepatutnya dikorbankan tempatnya di universiti atas nama membantu murid2 yg miskin dari pendalaman. Itu tanggungjawab dan tugas kerajaan yg tdk seharusnya dipikul atas bahu anak2 murid dr kaum2 minoriti. Inikah keadilan ? Kalau tidak, apanya motivasi utk pelajar2 utk tekun belajar ?? Ramai murid sekolah ada mimpi dan tekad utk belajar bersungguh2 utk masuk ke universiti. Itu impian yg suci yg harus dipupuk dan direalisasikan utk ramai anak2 muda kita. Pelajar2 yg rajin belajar dari kaum2 minoriti tak sepatutnya terus menjadi mangsa kegagalan kerajaan menaikan taraf sosioekonomi dan kemudahan pelajaran bagi murid2 bumi di kws luar bandar dan pendalaman selama beberapa dekad ini. Berapa lama lagi kerajaan nak pakai alasan yg sama utk menjastifikasikan sistem kuota ini ???

my MALAY siblings with straight As SPM, also didnt get any scholarship and find it really hard to get into uni, i have found a lot of MALAY students with excellent result only got boarding school/matric not at first intake, nowadays even malay competing so much given that so many of them so damn intelligent. a lot of us malay students who majority came from poor family with no money for extra classes nor opportunities, who still excel academically, but still have to compete so much with those rich people because they excel more. the quota is higher in malay bcos malay is the majority citizen in this country. somehow im also angry with those rich malay and nonmalay people who can get everything but still demand for gov benefits. gov should help those who excel but poor cause they still can excel despite their backgrounds. help those kids!

Najib was the first pm who open up quota for non bumis in mara and matriculation..u have to know how malaysia was built..mara and matriculation was meant to help malays and bumis..and it has nothing against other etnics because other ethnic can still apply for form 6, diploma or degree in alot more places. Only mara and matric was built to help the malays. Nobody thought mara and matric will be so successful like it is today..it was only meant to be a small institution..

The history of word bumiputera came into pictute was 5 years after formation of Malaysia in 1971 where bumiputera word were used for Malays by lump up Malays in Peninsula and indigeneous people of Sabah Sarawak as 60% population of bumiputera to claim big portion of all allocation for Malays in peninsula, it is artificial and cunning plan, the actual figure in peninsula is 55% Malays vs 45% non Malays, so the current 95% Malay qouta in all public Universities in peninsula is not fair at all it is a oppression and discrimination of UMNO government plan to sideline the Non-Malays in public institution.This should.not be continued by more inclusive Anwar government but seem that no will from the current government pointing finger that they will loose Malay support in mere excuse, the government should explain to the Malays and do the right thing.

i understand that non bumis like me can get frustrated over our government's kononnya reluctance towards getting rid of the bumiputera quota system, and with good reason... however i can understand that our beloved prime minister also have to consider a lot of factors before having to make a decision and the backlash/consequences if he decided to actually get rid of the bumi quota system, so i trust that our pm knows what is best for us

tao ada sosial contract tp ini bkn utk selama lamanya sbb bmpt masih belum yakin utk bersaing dgn minoriti sekian lama sejak merdeka. Sistem sekrang kena ubah utk kebaikan bmpt dan jugak minoriti yg sekian tak dapat tumpuan bantuan dr kerajaan. I'm malay and I don't really agreed with this girl with even 1A, 2A or 3A can be accepted in matriculation offered by government univ. My daughter so much struggle with SPM result 6A3B to get offer, finally only one univ offered a course that she didnt really like in UiTM. Since she had no choice, just accepted and now completed her diploma.

Persoalannya utama pelajar tu, kenapa peluang tidak diberikan kpd pelajar cemerlang yng straight A di matriks tetapi rakan2x drp agama lain diberikan peluang walaupun markahnyer rendah.. isi hati pelajar berkenaan, belajar sama2x susah tapi peluang tiada. Ini persoalannya bukan bantuan.. be fair utk pelajar cemerlang dan membina negara kearah negara moden dan maju bukan dgn surat rekeman..harap pmx boleh menkaji semula dan memberi peluang kpd yg cemerlang.

Its not a Anwar policy, All happend in past ( 1980's) compare opportunity given by all previous Govt for Matriculation, percentage of non bumi student may increase this time,No point blaming PMX instead understand what is in our Constitutional.Special privilege for Malay, we must accept this fact. Earlier for d same question in other campus, he directed Education Minister to open an opportunity to non bumi students in any channel related.

@@dayvandrankanna sistem kuota untuk kemasukan matriks sudah lama dihapuskan semenjak 2008 lagi tetapi pada tahun 2013, MIC menyuruh kerajaan supaya mengembalikan semula sistem kuota kerana kemasukan kaum India ke matriks semakin menurun. Sistem merit tidak semestinya menguntungkan semua orang. Yang ada akses dengan duit sehingga boleh masuk berbagai kelas sudah semestinya memberi kelebihan kepada mereka berbanding golongan pedalaman yang tidak ada akses sedemikian.

@@hammerfall6666 yes bro, its all decided by KPM, either akses itu melalui rayuan dari org yg berpendapatan rendah yg memdapat good score, betul tak, saya sini berpendapat sistem kuota utk bumiputera wajib dikekalkan & mcm PMX berhujah, non bumi yg cemerlang masih boleh diterima/ diberi peluang utk matriculation.

@@dayvandrankanna non bumi yang cemerlang ni terlampau ramai. Sebab tu untuk rayuan kedua, diorang tak tengok cemerlang dari segi akademik semata-mata tapi dari segi kokurikulum sekali. So nak senang, jangan jadi ulat buku je tapi rajin2 kan diri masuk aktiviti kokurikulum biar mudah untuk dapat masuk matriks atau ipta. Benda ni terjadi pada kawan non bumi aku, yang sorang tu ulat buku tak pernah berpeluh dengan aktiviti kokurikulum dan dapat straight A. Sorang lagi tak dapat straight A tapi markah aktiviti kokurikulum amat cemerlang sampai sebut nama dia je, semua orang kenal dengan aktiviti dia buat. Boleh teka siapa dapat tempat untuk kuota tersebut?

Don’t bark about quota when the bumi themselves also being treated like non bumi for the quota. Pm dah cakap bumi yang study kat sekolah di rural area pun kena compete dengan bumi di sekolah bandar. Aku yg bumi banyak a ni pun x lepas masuk maktab dan ipta tp bumi yg 1 a je boleh masuk maktab. Pm dah cakap dunia ni memang unfair. Work harder. Ada banyak cara nak berjaya. Bukan semua jalan nak berjaya tu cantik.

Agreed, she has the potential to be a future leader. But I emphatic towards anwar position, the problem is indeed so deeply rooted in the system, that it has to be changed little by little. Anwar can just announce no quota, and trust me there will be demonstration , and it will be back sooner than you can imagine and potential under worse conditions.

Abolish quota system and at the same time abolish SJKC and SJKT.Follow only one standard syllabus and let's compete in open field. If Chinese and Indian agree to that,then you can talk about bumis quota.

Bloody hypocrites. Nobody asked for any changes in the main cores which is Agama Islam Agama Rasmi, Bahasa Malaysia Bahasa Kebangsaan, Kedudukan Raja-Raja Melayu, quotas in business ownership/government jobs or the land of the Malays and Bumiputera because these things are acceptable and it can't ever be changed like how we can't change our parents. It's something solid and no room for negotiations. Only for education, there's a request. That too, for ONLY those who studied hard and scored well. If these people don't have the heart, to AT LEAST LOOK INTO just the acceptance into public universities for a little percentage of the Non-Malays, then these people are the same as the Israeli and people in India they're vilifying.

It's true though Meritocracy sounds nice on the surface, but all it does is give an unfair advantage to those who have more resources A child born to a rich family who can afford all sorts of tuition will logically gain an advantage over a child born to a poor family who in additon to their studies need to help their family make ends meet Abolishing quotas in favour of meritocracy is a terrible idea that benefits the rich and the elite Reforming the quota system so that it better targets those who need the assistance is a much better option

Itu tanggungjawab dan tugas kerajaan yg tdk seharusnya dipikul atas bahu anak2 murid dr kaum2 minoriti. Inikah keadilan ? Kalau tidak, apanya motivasi utk pelajar2 utk tekun belajar ?? Ramai murid sekolah ada mimpi dan tekad utk belajar bersungguh2 utk masuk ke universiti. Itu impian yg suci yg harus dipupuk dan direalisasikan utk ramai anak2 muda kita. Pelajar2 yg rajin belajar dari kaum2 minoriti tak sepatutnya terus menjadi mangsa kegagalan kerajaan menaikan taraf sosioekonomi dan kemudahan pelajaran bagi murid2 bumi di kws luar bandar dan pendalaman selama beberapa dekad ini. Do you know that what you are suggesting is a socialist system practised by many communist and socialist countries ? I am all for helping the poor, but it can't be at the expense of our bright and hardworking students from the minority group and robbing them of their places in local public universities. Otherwise, what is the motivation for our younger generation to work and study hard ? And majority of the minority students wanting a place in local universities are from low and medium income background, unlike what you think. Otherwise, they would have gone overseas. Why is the responsibility of helping the bumi students in the rural areas put on the shoulders of the minority students ?? Isn't it the duty and responsibility of the government to improve the social economic and education facilities for the rural students for the last 65 years since Independence !?? How long more do our minotity students have to suffer from the government's failure in their duties to uplift the rural bumis ?? How long more does the government want to use this same lame excuse to justify the existing education quota system ??

Be not under any illusion,PMX was also UMNO education minister. Sir this is not about underprivileged students from Sabah and Sarawak.Its sad that the people from Sabah and Sarawak are only used as make weight to justify privileges being hijacked by those in west Malaysia.By all means have quota but you should also ensure that those with merits are also not left out.Its not about giving special attention to an occasional case where the grouse is publicly aired .

She's still young and hopefully she gets to understand the broader picture.. DSAI is the ONLY PM who can right the wrongs of the past leaders.. More time needed. We got to be patient.. Actually it's depends on what kind course applied, gender & place. 12A girl student compete in critical course at top rank college compared to 5A male student compete in non critical course at average college. There're many bumiputera have to apply second time for critical courses too. Ended up rejected or placed in non favourable courses & colleges which refer to their last choices from their list as backup. No PMX , justice is not about fair & square only. Justice is about placing something in its rightful place. You can't wear a hat at your legs as you wearing a shoe. Which both are outfits.
