When I was in Taiwan she was just starting her career. Her songs bring back so many memories of my time in Taiwan as a missionary, and even the back up music with the etherial organ and accordion sends me back to the 60's. She sings with such what can I say sweetness, definitely a gift from above. The Japanese as well as the Chinese lyrics are just as beautiful. She sings with the voice of an angel and the body language is so so sweet as well. I will always love Deng Li Jun. I have heard many female vocalists from China but her voice and talent is unique and in my opinion unmatched by any other female voice per se as to what she could project in her medium. Too bad she could not have shared her talent in China. She always melts my heart, we need her today.

I took two trips to Taiwan in 1969-70 and I recall saying this teen is going to be one of the best in the musical industry.

I have only recently (2015) become aware of Chen Lin, her music (particularly this song/album created a passion in me) and her life story. I am Australian and do not speak Chinese/Mandarin but on researching have managed to find translation to most of her work. I must admit though I appreciate listening to her naturally and find her songs much more moving in her native language and to be truthful, I quite often feel overwhelmed with emotion listening to her and reflecting with sadness as to how huge a loss to the world this talented woman was. I for one feel very deprived of the opportunity to have maybe seen her or heard her sing live just once in my life. I am so sad for her to have felt so low and in such despair that she had no way out of her sadness other than take her own life in such a way. I weep for her in my heart. Your post here is a great tribute to a very worthy recipient.
