One thing I can recommend doing after you're done sculpting with green stuff is putting some isopropyl alcohol onto it, it will melt the source a little bit, not enough to destroy the sculpt, but enough to remove fingerprints and smooth it out.

The cartoony aspect is one of my favorite aesthetics in miniatures, so I feel ya. I like the sort of "squatty" design style a lot, though I do like some of the modern takes too. I have a fair amount of both in my own armies.

For chainmail, maybe you knew this but going in lines going in opposite directions with each hole slightly overlapping the other just enough to make a crescent on top of the previous hole will help make a good effect. Idk how to exactly describe it. But like making a back and forth pattern like that.

I like it when people take Aos/Fantasy and 40kify them. I think you did awesome work with this kill team. the mighty Algorithm recommended me to yah.

When filling small areas I like to place some thin pieces of sprue and ad a little bigger drop of glue than normally and let it melt. You can use a knife or another sharp tool to shape it a little bit if you need. If it gets to rough you can smoothen it out with glue again, just be careful so you dont mess up any details! If you're still not happy with the results I learned a pretty good tricky called "hiding ones crimes" by Adam Savage, meaning you just hide it with some cool details or a nice purity seal :)

I've found sculpting with a mix of green stuff and milliput to be much more effective than just green stuff

Awesome kitbashes. My fav are probably Walter and Prudence because of their simple yet effective use of parts.
