@Square Zack he has referenced it many times. Though he makes it comedic and we all get great laughs, It truly does suck that so many of these scammers exist. Even Kit gets kinda sidelined sometimes when he comes across a really good scammer, bc he knows the likelihood they have probably destroyed so many good innocent people.

I befriended one of these guys he told me everything but this guy works in Ghana and believe me the working conditions and the employers just take advantage of the employee is in every way that they can paying them maybe $3 a month or something like that. That kind of thing has happened a handful of times in the past year or so. He even revealed once and told the guy he knew he was scamming. He said "You sound like you're having a tough day, so how about we do something fun. You pretend to be my brother and we'll go waste another scammer's time." And their names were Bruce and Willis! Edit: And while the scammer "Bruce" was messing with the new scammer, Kitboga ate lunch. (Almost forgot that icing on the cake detail.)

There are so many scammers though, and they can't _all_ be sociopaths. There must be some level of mental-gymnastics going on that allows them to justify it to themselves, undoubtedly fed by some manipulation & logical loopholes from their managers or friends who recruited them into it. Young and/or easily-impressionable people. It's probably like how certain religious minorities are able to radicalise individuals to fight for a hostile cause through similar manipulative tactics and warped interpretations of beliefs/moral values/social-&-cultural expectations. Similar to potential cult members perhaps. I imagine they have their managers feeding them lines (think "Rubber Dinghy Rapids" if you've seen the film Four Lions 😅) Don't get me wrong... these scammers... their actions aren't excusable. But all it takes is a person in a certain situation and/or mindset to be easily roped into doing such things - I don't think they have to be clinically psychopathic/sociopathic and entirely aware & willing of destruction they wreak, in order to be complicit in such acts. However they are just as responsible and deserving of blame! Though - tbf - I _do_ reckon a streak of sociopathy, and obviously high intelligence, is needed to be a _good_ scammer (as opposed to just luck), and they're probably the ones who rise up the ranks into management roles.

As funny as this sounds, this did happen. When my mother was growing up in the 1950s, if one of her 3 other siblings or her got ill, like chickenpox, their parents would have the kids all sleep in the same room. Just get the virus to zip right on through them all.

Most of the scammers are trained and work off a script they have little if any actual computer knowledge, if it goes too far off the script is when they transfer the call to a "higher level" person, this is one reason Kit tries to get them far off script.
