Using the tip of a toothpick is a great way to add only the tiniest bit of color when mixing small amounts of paint. Thanks for the video!

I was looking for a video like this with somebody that had tried to repair ceramic tile since I can't find replacement tiles. Looks pretty good what you fixed I was wondering what about putting a sealer over it so when the floors washed and stuff it doesn't affect it at all. I know you seal the grout but maybe tile could be sealed as well, anyway I'm going to try it to some big divots I have in my tile since I have no replacements to try to match up they're 18 or 19-in tiles. Thanks

Great vid! I noticed the kit included lacquer. Just wondering if it could be used to help give a slight sheen to the finished surface.

Curtis I loved the video. Looks great. I'm a housewife and not very handy, so I don't feel comfortable doing this DIY. Is there anyone you would recommend in the Rockland County, NY area who does this proffesionally?
@curtisduncan60972 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! This is something I had never tried before this video. Im sure you can tell by my accent that I'm not from the New York area! 😆 I do not know anyone that could do this for you. Good luck with your project!

It looks amazing! I have 2 long cracks almost the length of two ceramic tiles. Will this still work, or is it just for tiny spots like this. Thanks!
@HarrysQuotum2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary, one thing to note with chips and cracks have different reasons on why they happen. For chips, it could be a manufacturers defect, or someone had dropped a solid item, or chip out while cutting the tile. Cracks are commonly caused by either poor thinset on the back of the tile and having too much pressure applied to a suspended area, or the subfloor like concrete has a crack. Fort he first case, the tile needs to be pulled up with the thinset and reset properly and should have 90%+ coverage area of thinset(no gaps creating weak spots for the tile). For the second, the crack in the subfloor needs to be addressed before placing a new tile down. This is commonly done by laying a uncoupling membrane between the subfloor and new tile. Best of luck.

If you really sand aggressively, it would be possible. I am sanding very lightly.

What’s easier- replace or patch? I know that replacing is best -but I’m interested in knowing which one is easier? Thanks
@curtisduncan60972 жыл бұрын
I would say replacing is probably easier...if you have matching tile. I did not have, nor could I find tile to match.
@tedtolentino49553 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the repair tip. To restore the shine and finish of the tile did you use any additional products to match the rest of the tile surface? Keep up the good work.

Great job.... I never used bondo.. but do you need to a add a hardener? or is it fine as is
@patsousa714 Жыл бұрын
Bondo will not harden sufficently. you need to add the catalyst, the hardener.

@samanthaangel3326 Жыл бұрын
no it has to be oil based to mix with the putty.. mind you, you might just be able to just use thick acrylic paint for the whole fill since that stuff doesn't come off! i might try that at my home but not on a job

I thought that bondo putty was not water proof, that when applied to a car it has to see painted before it gets wet.
