I'm getting ready for my spring fishing trips, and trying out the KitchenAid Food Grinder as part of my meal planning and prep, and this is a winner! Buy it here: amzn.to/3boDLgN

The grinder is an indispensible attachment for the KitchenAid. I will say that after many years of use, the plastic housing on mine has developed a crack so it's living on borrowed time. There are aftermarket grinder attachments made of stainless steel that will fit the KitchenAid and that's what I'll get when the one I have finally breaks. Having said that, A friend of mine has a dedicated grinder and it works faster & better than the KitchenAid. Great video!

I've got this same one. Sure, people have mentioned the metal ones are better, but I got the plastic one (and the mixer itself) for free, so... yeah, free is better. It looks like this one works fine.

Very important to show how the blades go in and in what order.

Thanks for the video! This was so helpful. We salvaged an elk that was hit and are going to grind it up with some bacon ends. Now I know I don’t need to cut the pieces so small. The first 10 lbs we cut up really small. You’ve just saved me time!!

the worm part is stuck. It looks like it's fixed not loose. I wonder how I am going clean well the worm. You don't want residue stuck in the back of the warm

Cut the meat into about one inch cubes. It will mostly feed itself once you get started.

I have been grinding meat the first time and noticed some unpleasent sounds, also grinding some metal during the process. is there anything to look out for?
@TheCanadianFisherman2 жыл бұрын
I haven't experienced that. If you are grinding metal, I'd guess that something is not installed right?

How does the attachment prevent the fluids (blood, water) from leaking back into the head of the mixer? I was curious about the sanitary aspects and came across a video of someone who "found out the hard-way"
@debmorton3310Ай бұрын
I read where someone folded a kitchen towel and put it under the back feet of the mixer to tilt it forward and said they did not have any problem with fluids going back into the mixer. Imhave uet to try mime. Fingers crossed.

Is there a wrong direction to place the blade?

After working with a 15,000 meat grinder in my meat dpt this is so frustrating to watch how slow that thing goes. But I’m sure it’ll work good if you don’t typically grind a lot.

He had the mixer set to 4, it actually has 10 speeds...besides..it's a home use grinder not an industrial like you'd have in a packing plant or grocery store.

Hey I got one of these too, how are yours holding up a few years later? I noticed my mixer was working hard but nothing smelled like it was burning and the housing was nice and cool even after I'd finished. Just curious to see how it's done over time both mixer and grinder and anything I might watch out for as I use it. I've used mine a few times and it seems easy to clean and it was nice having medrare burgers from sirloin steaks.

Can you take the corn/seed grinder and use it to grind up whole coffee beans?

I have seen someone grind whole blackpepper in theirs. Put it through twice.

This is the product that ruined my very good quality meat, my recipe and my night. You can process veggies but this product is not for meat I think. I washed the product several times after I bought but meat got some purple stains while I was using. I found out that many People complained about the same weird stains after grinding. Such a waste of time!

Just upgraded to the metal grinder sharper better blades,I put the entire assembled grinder in the freezer as well as the metal work bowl with partially frozen meat which makes a better product.BTW your pieces are too big.The metal vs plastic not even close.

I can see you're a fisherman... LOL... you don't have to totally unscrew the catch screw on the accessories slot... OMG... you don't just tighten it back down, you have to locate it in the small indentation in the accessory shaft so it won't spin!! LMAO... YES I know I'm commenting 4 years after... but it's for anyone who's actually watching this "fisherman" use something it looks like he didn't research first... LOL...
