Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the KitchenAid KSM1APC Spiralizer Attachment with Peel, Core and Slice. LINK to KitchenAid Spiralizer: amzn.to/2noJpJO
LINK to KitchenAid Mini Stand Mixer used in this video: amzn.to/2mNC31P
KitchenAid Mini Stand Mixer Review: • KitchenAid Artisan Min...
How the attachments works is by attaching it to a KitchenAid Stand Mixer and turning the mixer speed on.
This attaches to all KitchenAid Stand Mixer models.
Comes in this storage box which has slots for all the parts. The box has magnetic closure which is neat. Most of the parts are metal with plastic tabs. It comes with the attachment body which goes into the head of your stand mixer, 4 blades and a peeling blade. The peeling blade is mostly plastic and reminds me of the as seen on tv potato peeler I reviewed a while back. Each blade has a picture on it. This is the spiral slice blade large core to use with apples and pears. This is the spiral slice blade small core for use with zucchini and beets. These two are the spiralizing blades, one is medium and one is fine, you can use either for potatoes and zucchini. This is the peeling blade that you can use with any one of the four blades. This is the skewer to which you attach your fruit and vegetable. The instruction manual gives you suggested speeds for each blade.
To use the spiralizer, first unscrew and remove the plate on your stand mixer head. Insert the attachment body, the shaft should fit it the square hub socket. This pin should fit into the notch. Tighten the screw. Put the skewer in and twist it until it clicks. I’ll try out all four blades so you can see the difference between them. First let’s try the Slicing blade large core with a pear. Put the pear on the skewer. I’ve washed the pear and cut one end of it. The cut end should be flat. You don’t have to cut the end that’s against the skewer. Put the blade in, the black tab just snaps in. Pull the release lever and push the blade carrier towards the food. Press the blade core into the food. Put a place underneath to catch the produce. Food that’s placed here can’t be longer than 5.5 inches and the diameter has to be between 1.5 and 3.75 inches, so skinny carrots like this won’t work. The recommended speed is 6, so I’ll turn the mixer speed from stir to 6. Turn the mixer off. Remove the blade first, it just pulls off, then the food.
I hope you found this review helpful. Subscribe and I'll see you next time. Thanks for watching :)

Excellent Demonstration! The step by step instructions with clear, concise explanations were far superior above any other video to be found online. The close up shots coupled with an appropriate amount of camera time focused on each step far surpassed any other reviewer and outshined the company’s video of their own product. Absolutely #1 Kitchen Aid video out there! Fantastic job!

It's easier to push the release on the "sled" the tools connect on and move it forward off the core first, than to try and remove the blade while at the finished position and on the core. Safer too. Also, I find it easier to remove the spike and spike the food first then mount the spike with the food on it. You can get a more accurate "centered" spike in the food. It also solves the issue you has with the peeling the sweet potato. You can cut the butt, mount the spike, then be able to make the front cut on the potato so it's parallel with how it's spiked.

Where do I get the small core for thin zoodles? Place the thin zoodles (spiralized thin zucchini) in a bowl and sprinkle with salt and a little olive oil , stir lightly with a clean hand, set aside for 10 minutes and they taste just like noodles, I like them better. Get some cashews and place in a Vitamix , blend until creamy , pour over the zoodles, mix, and you have fettuccine alfredo. Very very good. You can place some parsley or cilantro leaves around the dish and do a noodle Twirl in the middle of the plate to make it look like it came from the finest restaurant in town! Season to taste.

Thanks. Good video. Everything would have peeled better if, like the Kitchenaid instructions, you "squared both ends." Just take a smidge off both ends, but make sure the ends are fairly parallel to each other and then the peeler does not jump off the food you are trying to peel. When I use it to peel/slice a summer squash I cut into uniform pieces, usually two, so the gadget is working on similar diameters to the peeler gets most to all of the fruit.

Mark Hernandez yes it would have been better with the spiralizer to cut the sweet potato and a half squaring It Off on both hands. The potato had a dip in it that should have been cut right there to make it evenly round. The spiralizer will not adjust so the vegetable must adjust and I would rather do that than stand at the sink all day feeling potatoes LOL

By personal experience, I do not recommend Pampered Chef apple peeler. It's made of aluminum which oxidizes as it meets the apple and turns the slices a horrible greyish-black. Ruined my apple slices! Yuk!

I got frustrated the 2 times I used this for spiralizing zucchini. I will try it for potatoes and other things. The peeler, etc. Both times using as a spiralizer I ended up breaking out my large manual one and got done way quicker. Very disappointed because it's a great idea seeming it would be fast to spiralize. The fact that I had to keep cutting down the zucchini to fit, then I was slicing the end pieces thin to cook evenly with the spiralized noodles. Oh, and thank you so much for the much better video here vs others including from Kitchen Aid.

This was an amazing video! I think that the peices are plastic so they can get the oddly shaped food. Aluminum would have been better considering the price but I wonder how long it generally lasts with caring use and proper storage 🤔.

When I purchased my Kitchenaid Pro mixer about four years ago, I had a mail in card for a free spirilizer. I never opened it. Recently someone told me that Kitchenaid had an apple peeler/corer. I decided to,look it up on line, and discovered I already have it as part of the spirilizer! I do a lot of apples and will definitely be opening this box.

I think I would start with smaller sweet potatoes. Or use yams, same thing, almost LOL but the main thought would be to start out slow until the attachments is adjusted to the size of the vegetable because in going too fast when beginning the rotation, parts of the vegetable could slide off. The point is, which part is going to need to adjust?... Certainly not the spiralizer in motion, but the vegetable being spiralized LOL It's a matter of timing and placement as to how well the spiralizer will do. I have actually read some reviews where in people state they send it back because it won't adjust to their vegetable size. I mean whose side are they on? Certainly not their own. I would rather adjust the vegetable than stand at the sink peeling all day long, so who's getting shafted... No pun intended LOL. Make it work until a new invention comes along. So far this is the best one and I'm going to do everything in my power to make it work even if I need to change my recipe haha

Thanks for the great review. There was a stand with this accessory bundled for holiday sale, so I wanted to see if there was value in it for me. If you are doing mass volume cooking, there is value in this. If you are cooking for one or two people as I do, I see little value over what I already have. Which is a pairing knife, hand peeler, adjustable mandolin slicer. I may not get curly fries or long zoodles, but I still get fries and shorter zoodles. I'll have to get the stand on its own. If I get the stand. I would only use it for developing gluten for dough really. I have a bread machine with that setting already.

I have tremendous difficulty getting mine to work effectively because the prong holder strips all my vegetables, even it's slow speeds with flat, flat parallel ends. I think this lovely device unfortunately has a very poorly designed prong holder with the plastic pointy nubs being way too short and they should be flat for maximum pressure while attempting to turn the vegetable into the blade. Every vegetable gets stripped unless it's extremely hard and firm. Potatoes and carrots are much easier, zucchini, cucumber and even my winter squash tend to get stripped right away and I have to keep cutting off sections, wasting parts. Have they improved this at all?

V Adams I hv a manual peeler. What I've noticed is the veggie has to be fresh. That is hard for me to judge. Squeeze the veggie and make sure it is good and hard. Same with apples. The center gets soft with age and nothing is going to happen. I hv been disappointed with mealy apples because I didn't notice they were older. Where I shop it's impossible to get a really fresh zucchini.

JustMeNoOther I have done similar things, looks great then when you have it, remind me why. When ever you do something it has to make a difference and that difference has to change something like save money, time etc. I could not see this did either it was slower and more expensive than a standard peeler. It looks great and I guess ticks the box I have another accessory/gadget to play with. For the manufacturer it’s I have something else to sell to make more profit, for the consumer I would question it’s relevance other than one of those gadgets you buy and never really use. I still ❤️ Ya

Also you need to center the corer blade on the vegetable that's why it didn't work correctly for you with the potato.

I can tell you that for peeling apples, my Pelamatic Orange Peeler Pro absolutely beats the pants off this thing. Thinner peels, quicker, easier fruit change and way easier to clean up. But it doesn't spiral cut, it just peels.

Hi, sorry I haven't tried it. Food cannot be longer than 5.5 inches and the diameter has to be between 1.5 and 3.75 inches. Hope that helps :)

Should you not have used the hard vegetable attachment for the potatoes and sweet potato. And cutting straighter ends would have helped line up the corer and peeler

Looks easy, but I see that you did a LOT of video cuts. Just wondering how easy it really is? (Minus the video cuts).
