I love my pro 600. It has gone through many doughs and multiple batches of cookies,it never shakes or struggles. I can do small or large batches making it more versatile than the tilt head for my needs . I upgraded from the HD aka 5 pro to the 6 and in my opinion, the 6 preforms a lot smoother than HD

I have a pro 550 HD in black with a 6qt bucket and 575w motor and I am a 66 male, living alone and not a baker but that machine has turned out the best meatloaf, meatballs and mashed spuds for the last 12 years without once complaining. I recall paying $199 Cdn. for it. A good buy for this guy.

I just bought what would have been called the HD and is now the Professional 5 plus. I also have had an Artisan for 12 years now and it is still going strong. However, I kept questioning whether I should have gotten the 600 and I am so glad that I came upon your video. It was perfect and now ai know that I made the right choice. Thank you! I will be keeping my Professional 5 Plus, formerly known as the HD.

Finally received my third new professional 600 mixer. The first two I received did not work so were sent back. It took 5 months to get one that actually works even though they were brand new :-( I have had the professional HD but relocated and it was left behind so decided to try the professional 600 not knowing it would take ordering three to get one that would work!!!

There is a stronger version still. On the site its called pro line. Its 7.3 Quart (6,9 liter for those with sane measurements) and a 1.3 hp dc motor. And it comes with all stainless attachments rather then these coated rubbish ones. And here it barely cost anything more then the pro 600. Above that there's a commercial grade 8 Quart one but i wouldn't get that due to the silly cable wiring.

This is so helpful. I originally wanted professional hd, but i live overseas, where there is no kitchenaid available. I really wannna get my hand on one, so I ordered one from amazon. and ship it to my sister in the U Because her and her family were coming to visit me at that time. Unfortunately, they sent my sister the wrong one. It was professional 5 plus which was cheaper and not what I wanted. Because of the time and they were so busy, they didn’t have to unbox it for me, plus they were not familiar with the mixers they did not know that it was different. As for me I didn’t want to bother them too much so I didn’t ask them. Until, they arrived I realized that it was not what i wanted. Now i owned professional 5 plus. It’s great but a bit loud.

You can get smaller bowls for the artisan you can get a 3 quart bowl as well as 4.5 quart bold handle that quite often comes on some of the cheaper tilt heads that are simply not as powerful as the artisan. With the Tilthead mixers. The Beatles that came with your machine work perfectly fine with all three bolt sizes. I really don't think the three court bowl is necessary the 4.5 QT is perfectly sufficient as an extra bowl.

Unfortunately, I had a KitchenAid mixer for 15 years. Had to buy a new one, of course bought KitchenAid professional and 2 years in I have to get a new one. Not impressed. I made Brioche with my old mixer no problem. With the new one I would hear a clicking sound. I brought it in they told me nothing wrong. One day I was making olive bread. I heard a terrible noise and that was it. I upgraded for something that didn't even last a quarter of the time that my old one lasted... for the price I paid .... yup, never EVER again.

Yeah they say “all metal gears” but there is one gear that is not it’s called the worm gear it’s plastic and when it goes usually a couple others get destroyed as well…it’s made that way intentionally though. Once you hear the dreaded clicking noise it’s due for immediate repair as continued use destroys all the gears…I only know this as I just repaired my wife’s but it only cost around $60 and a few KZfaq vids

I'm looking into getting a Kitchen aid mixer, however, the reviews as of the last few years have been horrable. Such as the attachments no longer locking in, the attachments not being dishwasher safe, and even with hand washing create a grey residue that comes off on food, and having issues with needing part replacement within a year or two. I have family and friends who have had one for decades and never an issue. Now we are seeing these new ones having many issues. And when contacting customer service they seem to have no help. Would love to know the story behind such a change in quality, and if things have been done to fix any of this. If I'm dropping a fair amount of cash for a mixer, I want it to last like the older models.

Would have been even better if you ran them through some actual operations. Though I've seen videos where one mixer looked better than another because of the way the person made the batch to fail and didn't do adjustments before using the stand mixer. Especially the dime push test and none of the paddles were the side scrape new paddles and then they complained about mix left on the sides they had to stop and scrape down from the bowl sides. Duh!

There's only 2 of us so big batches aren't necessary and making a small batch just doesn't even reach to the bottom of the 6 qt bowl. It just sits in storage and that's sad.

Hi Antonine, The yield capabilities for the Artisan in a single batch: 4.5 loaves of bread | 9 dozen cookies | 7 pounds of mashed potatoes The Bowl-lift style Mixer (Pro 600) can handle up to 14 cups of flour (8.5 loaves of bread) - I'd for sure recommend a bowl-lift style mixer if your main application is bread/pizza doughs - the bowl lift is much more sturdy and will not shake like the Artisan can. This is the 2nd mixer video that I’ve watched that said the larger mixers are bad at small batches. Why? Is it because of the larger bowl shape? Does the whisk move slower? Is this just a myth that is being passed from person to person so Kitchenaid can sell more bowls?
@EverythingKitchens
@EverythingKitchens 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Rich, the larger bowls have a wider diameter compared to smaller bowls. Ingredients have more room to spread out with more surface area in the larger bowls. With smaller batches, the mixing tools have a harder time catching and mixing the ingredients compared to if those same ingredients were in a smaller bowl. Smaller bowls with a more narrow diameter have the ingredients come further up the mixing tools and side of the bowl, making it easier for the tools to reach and mix ingredients. I hope this helps!
@rich4501
@rich4501 2 жыл бұрын
@@EverythingKitchens But the whisks are also wider. If what you’re saying is that the larger style whisk don’t come into contact with the larger bowls as well, then that makes sense. But if the sizes are proportionally scaled up, it shouldn’t matter. UNLESS, what you’re saying is that the small mixers don’t make perfect contact with the bowl and the problem is magnified with a larger bowl. That’s probably what you’re saying. Sorry, I’m workshopping this issue as I’m typing. Thank you for your response.

Does anyone know why there aren't 500W models in Europe? I've been searching a lot and I can't find any retailer selling 350W+ models. In Portugal 🇵🇹 and Spain 🇪🇸, only the HD model reaches 500W

Will the 5qt bowl fit on the 600?
@EverythingKitchens
@EverythingKitchens 3 жыл бұрын
Pam, it will not, the bowl is slimmer than the arms of the Pro 600. You can get the 3qt bowl for the Pro 600: evkitch.com/2R0NRKi

Amtul, this mixer can be louder than the smaller Artisan mixer because the Pro HD has a larger motor.

Isn't the 600 series the one that's unbearably loud? How loud is the HD in comparison? My kitchen is enclosed on 3 sides. No cookie is worth going deaf over.

LOL @ your cookie comment. The 7-quart KA and the KA Commercial mixer have a different motor, and those models are much quieter. But some of the others have a whiny, high-pitched sound. The Artisan seems OK. I just wish KA would make all of their attachments (whisk, paddle) in stainless steel as they do with the Commercial model.

I saw the commercial one at a restuarant supply store. The grounded heavy duty orange plug made me think it's too powerful for my needs.

@@DarthArachnious I don't think it would be too powerful from what I've seen. I've seen them reviewed in household kitchens and I haven't seen anything like that. Most people like them. The 7 quart one is the same as the 8 quart Commercial (except for the cord, and the attachments are coated, except for the whisk.) Both are very quiet. Also, I think the red one in the middle of the video (5 quart) is a regular-sounding type. But that one on the left might have the high-pitched, squealing whine to it. I have a 5 quart and I have no issue with the sound.

Hey Jas, The HD is just as loud as the Pro 600 when I tested them. With 200 watts more power in the motor, the HD will be louder than the Artisan.

Both use a AC motor . That is why they are load .. Only the commercial series and mini have DC motor . They are very very quiet

Hey Lisa - you'll want the KFEW6L flex edge beater for your model which is supposed to fit 5qt and 6qt bowl lift models. You can see it here: www.everythingkitchens.com/kitchenaid-6qt-flex-edge-beater-kfew6l.html For your model, KG25HOXER is the same as KG25HOX - - - the last two letters on the end of KitchenAid mixers designates the color - - - so ER means Empire Red and you have the KG25HOX model mixer.
