Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.
In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and #lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. Every year throws up new and completely unexpected challenges, and how lifeguards adapt is what makes Bondi Rescue a show that’s about much more than swimmers being saved in the surf.

This man was actually listening to the Lifeguards when this happened so just think if he didn't how much worse then his ego would be hurt. Kudos to this man for following the rules and I'm glad that he was alright.

Oh no lol thats my worse night mare. The boy probably was traumatised i hope he’s ok and the kite.I laughed when he got dragged across the sand it’s probably the weirdest thing i’ve seen on Bondi beach yet.

As a kiter of 11 years, this is super embarrassing to watch. Not only was he riding in the surf/swim zone with people present, but using the quick release to land the kite is such an amateur move. And on top of it, signaling for help from people who have no knowledge or experience with kites puts everyone involved at serious risk. It's behavior like this that gives most people a bad impression of kiters in general. Buddy needs some more lessons.

I really hope his back was okay because that was a quick slam into the wall/railing and then the wind moved him again. His adrenaline was going at the time, so he may think he is okay when he isn't. I hope he got checked out.

People need to learn to manually flag their kites by grabbing a single line and pulling it in. The safety is not the only way to flag the kite

In his situation he could of saved himself by taking off the harness or getting out the knife to cut the lines. In kiting you have to have things really clear.... Specially, what to do in case of.... Put yourself mentally in the worst situations and think about how you could get out of them. Specially if something happens your life is the important part... Your gear is secondary... A very common mistake is thinking about the gear.

As a kiteurfer I can fairly confidentally say this guy didn't have a clue. 1. Kitesurf in designated zones and obey the 5 knots rule when within 50m of other water users 2. Get someone to help you land i.e Dont kite alone, especially if you don't have the skill to self land 3. If you're going to self land dont do it next to an obstacle 4. If you're going to pull your primary safety dont do it next to obstacles 5. Don't ask untrained tourists to put themselves in harms way to try and salvage your possibly poorly maintained equipment 6. Test your gear reguarly to ensure it works i.e your safety system completely flags out and doesn't fail like yours did 7. Pull your secondary safety if you're getting dragged out of control and before you are flung into a wall Guys like you give the sport a bad name. Do everyone a favour a do a refresher course before heading out again...

WTH? Kiteboarding hasn't been allowed on Bondi beach for years, and if you look at the info on this clip, they're advertising SEVEN YEARS worth of episodes (nearly all kiteboard-free). I don't see the indication of how old this clip is, but kitemares are popular, even though most of the footage out there is old and kites have changed. Still, taking lessons and a few safety steps will protect your face, ribs, and other parts from getting broken. The primary reason kiteboarding isn't allowed on the eastern suburb beaches is because there are too many other swimmers and surfers.
