Are most YT personalities these days appearing less than credible and a bit disingenuous - pushing and promoting brands and watches that 99% of non-industry watch collectors think are ridiculously ugly or overpriced. I recognize we all have opinions… but it seems odd that folks who financially benefit from liking a watch turn out to like the watch. Those who actually have to buy it… don’t. 🤔 Thanks Fed for being a beacon of reason.

I thought the Kith Tags were pretty cool until I saw the tiny size and huge price tag. I don't know what Tag is doing, other than trying to one up Swatch with an even worse piece of crap than the Moonswatch. Look if you really want an overpriced plastic watch, get a Hublot service watch. At least they are unique in a way, even if they're total garbage.

That price for the Kith is CRAZY! My first "real" watch was a Tag Link Calibre 6 I got in 2018. Brand new, I walked out with it for $1,600. It's still a beautiful watch and a very comfortable bracelet. If I paid that for the Kith F1 I'd be depressed.

Even from a street style enjoying perspective, the Kith x Tag collabs are questionable. At that price, one could get a bunch of resin G-Shocks and put together more outfits or a nicer MTG G-Shock with more functionality. At that price point, it's only going to appeal to people chasing brand recognition over style itself.

Have no doubt Federico is brilliant. Been thinking about the Kith/TAG and if this new version duplicates the feel of the original case (which I liked very much) and with a seemingly nicer strap if it has a better quartz movement (better crystal). Numbers produced / the way the case is manufactured ( takes dedicated molds or simple stamping and spraying I just don't know ). When I think that a JLC 34mm MUT in stainless used (my ideal piece) is really not that distant in price makes me apprehensive - but when the JLC and KithTAG and a cheap Casio G-Shock is my ideal collection then this new TAG has some swagger and distresses :( me to call it a piece of nastiness.

The Tag/Kith collaboration falls perfectly in line with streetwear culture. Overpriced, overhyped, and discarded once the new thing comes along. It’s sad cause I think if Tag rereleased these (as non limited) on their own for half the price they would have received a lot of praise from true fans of the originals.

I was curious what your take would be Federico. Its too bad. TAG has been building a lot of brand equity in recent years with solid releaes like the skipper and and the glassbox chronograph, and then they do this. Im all for watch brands celebrating their past and not taking themselves so seriously but the prices of these seem predatory. All the goodwill TH has built w thr enthusiast community is being shat out the other end with the trendy / casual crowd cash grab

Completely agree on the tag watch. I think at $750 it would be okay but it’s way overpriced and I don’t like having Kith on the watch at all

Hey Fed. I've just dropped what I consider to be a lot of money on an IWC spitfire. By far the most I've spent. I have a Sinn U1 and a GS GMT. While I've stretched myself for what is a grail for me..... I wouldn't touch a Kith Tag. Just not worth it for me

Great video! I to disagree with the Kith release thoughts though. First, it’s not for me. If I want that style, I’d go get an original vintage one. Having said that, the cases are in fact PVD’d steel this time around but more importantly, and why I’m disagreeing, is that I’ve worked for a Tag Heuer A.D. for over 6 years now & let me just say I can’t tell you how many Tag buyers have great memories owning or wanting one of the original plastic Formula 1s & just how many have said “man, those bring back memories. If they made them today, I’d totally buy a new one”. Only time will tell but I think they will actually be a hit. Even if they are a $1500 retro Quartz oddity. 👍

Federico, I love watching your videos. You are passionate about watches for sure. But I disagree with you about this collaboration in watches. Those collaborations may not fancy those in the luxury watch market who value fine quality. But remember there are Swatch watch collectors that love the plastic colorful personalization of watches. This collaboration falls into that camp. I would buy one because I do like the swatch look but it’s not a swatch

I think TAG Heuer did see the enormous success that Swatch is having with the Swatch X Omega and Swatch X Blancpain collaborations. Hence, they tried to replicate this with this TAG x KITH thing. No fault doing this, but for $1,500? No way. And by the way, this Formula 1 looks like a clone of the early Scuba 200 Swatch.

Tag just phoned it in with the crap Kith. Geesh that is horrible. There was a reason they discontinued it when it came out the first time. 🤦‍♂️

Many watch brands nowadays are as we say in Scotland are 'taking the piss'. Stretching prices with little design od technical development. I say just don't buy them retail. Leave them sitting on the shelf until the 'piss takers' get the message. There is a very attractive market out there on ' preloved' watches with prices still tumbling. Go for the watches you have always wanted and leave the overpriced new releases on the shelf. This Kith Heuer is typical, but there will be people with more money than sense who buy them for pocket money. Sad. Mind you, would I want to be seen walking down the pits at an F1 event wearing this !!!!! Desk Drivers only...........

Tell us what you really think about Tag's collab...LOL. It really is not a bad piece of streetwear at, oh, say, $99.

Tag's priority is to make cash after all. If they think it's worth it ruining their brand's luxury reputation further by offering TikTok hype garbage, let them take the risk. It doesn't diminish the quality of their nicer watches. If us watch enthusiasts get really lucky, they might even use this cash grab to cross-finance an otherwise uneconomical horology project.

People should stop taking a dump on attempts to save the Swiss analog watch industry. Gen Z have grown up using only digital watches and now they're the dead broke generation while the Swiss geniuses are tripling the ask for their most unremarkable movements. I was able to score my frist Rolex Sub for what was about six weeks salary for college graduate. My Speedmaster was about two weeks salary. Now these watches cost more than your two livers and left lung. Keep this up and this will become an old man's hobby. That's why the lines for the MoonSwatch had six hour lines all over the globe. It was the only Speedmaster Gen Z could afford. I can't believe how many people failed to realize this.
