The best thing about this particular scene & the entire film was the screenplay. Its very hard to imagine what kind of thought process went into the director's mind to introduce the villain like this, to create a sequence like this, the style of his laugh, fool them by making them laugh breathlessly before killing them. Hats off !!

The role of Gabbar Singh was originally offered to Danny Denzonpa but he refused since he was then booked for Khotey Sikkey (which also had quite similar story). When Sholay was released Danny said in an interview that it was the best descision that he didn't accepted the role of Gabbar Singh since Amjad did far better than him. It was an era where stars were exhibiting true respect and no ego.

Actually Dani Denzongpa was offered for this movie. For some reason he couldn't get into this epic film. Thanks to Dani that we got this great artist. Thanks to Sippy family for giving importance to all the artists who appeared in this film.

@kartik Singh, please dont compare everything with hollywood. We know that hollywood is better than bollywood movies that doesn't mean everything is bad in bollywood. We have some good villains in bollywood like Amrish Puri in Mr. India, Ashitosh Rana in Sangharsh and Dushman and Ajmad khan in Sholay. We can say that these are best villains not only in bollywood but in the world.

Samba played by Mac Mohan and Kaalia played by Viju Khote became famous and got many roles from this movie alone even though they had small roles, shows how legendary this whole movie was which made careers of every cast. Although this movie is Western inspired, it blended well with Indian village Dacoits which was very much real and terrorizing. Truly a masterpiece and it still reigns in our hearts. Hats off to Ramesh Sippy sir.

*_I love the acting of this guy _**_4:25_**_ among the 3s. He had shown different emotions:_* *4:26**- Shocked reaction* *4:38**- shock with Fear* *4:50**- slightly relexed with some fear* *5:01**- more relaxed (but still careful and no fear)* *5:15**- Finally died first among the 3* *5:25**-The life lesson, maybe that's why he died first coz he was gripped in fear till the last moment(my perception)*

Acting, expressions, actors, cinematography and dialogue delivery is much better than most of the films and web series nowadays which are absolutely junk. The role of Gabbar Singh, played by actor Amjad Khan is much realistic and eyecatchy than most negative characters in present day films, because this is acting, not overacting and style show
