I took him to the vet. she did everything she could and he died there. All 10 of his brothers and sisters survived except him and two others. They all got homes. This video is on why the feral mothers were there with just kitler. maybe they sensed he was going to die soon from probably pan leuk or FLV. very deadly and still studied viruses in cats.

Im guessing the mom knew he was sick and was taking him out to die, away from the siblings as not to attract predators but the mothering instinct was strong and she brought him back to the truck.

i know how you feel, has happened to me too, i'm always finding stray kittens around my house here from time to time-one i called smoky, we kept him & he lived to be about ten yrs old, then passed away, another i found tuxedo kitten in an abandoned house next door to ours, he had a wound on his neck, i ended up keeping him too. Have not found many more cats/kittens in my area as we have coyotes here now-most have disappeared. thank you for the video

You can tell that he won't make it by his eyes. The eyes show a lot with upcoming dying humans and animals alike. His eyes are not bright and full of life.

The kitten looks weak from not getting nursed.

We too took in a faded runt kitten the mama had abandoned in our shrubs one year and she was always very tiny, always coming in at around 2.5 lbs or maybe three pounds at the most. Her life span was only about six years. She got sick and we put her down about three weeks ago. She was a very sweet and vocal cat in our home for those half dozen years, though.

Thank you for sharing this bittersweet story. The two mother cats display such strange behavior. They seem distraught and sad as though they are aware the little guy is sick and are going to have to make the painful decision to let him go. Yet one one the cats keep licking him hoping he will recover. You and your sister showed much strength and compassion in caring for the kittens. That just warms my heart!!

Just recently lost 2 kittens who were rejected and have been caring for one. The video looks so much like what the first one was going through. I'm very sorry for the loss of the kitten. I'm still feeling bad about about both recent deaths. It was too late by the time I realize the momma cat was rejecting her kittens.

To me this video looks like the mother and aunt knew this kitten was not well, and they were sitting with him till he would be well. The aunt is supporting both of them, and, a cat's tendency is to isolate when ill, maybe they also were trying to protect the other kittens from maybe getting sick and so isolated Berlin. Haven't followed up with read more about the other kittens, I may comment more when I've had the chance to do so.

sad but you cant do anything sadly, near my workplace we have a colony of cats, I seen this cat with 5 kittens...for like five days or more, yesterday I went to give them food only one kitten remains...went today again his gone, I went looking for them and found nothing, like they vanished...someone must have took them...I feel so bad for not knowing what happend with them, the cat mum was also looking for them...I feel pitty for her :( I would of taken them all with me but I have 4 cats alrdy :(

This made me cry bringing back so much memories of my cat Zubat youngest litter which would be her second litter. I came back from work one night and i could hear baby kittens crying under the house, so i took a long time contemplating how to get them, not knowing how much kittens were under there and my phone life was going flat so due to light on my phone i didn't have much time and most importantly i had no idea how long they were under the house for and I needed to get them out as soon as possible. I grabbed one kitten, and named her grey. She is Zubat only girl, so sometimes i call her Girly. When I grabbed this little girl my phone turned off not long after so i had no idea what to do next. This kitten was very cold and i was afraid that she wasn't going to make it through the night but i gave it a shot and kept her warm in the room. Zubat then climbs through my window with her boy and he was a cute little thing, but turns out he was the runt. I did not care he was a lovely boy so i named him Tiger. The next day i leave for work and come back that night and find a third kitten, this is my boy Panther, very lively when he plays and such a smoocher like his siblings. 5 - 6 weeks later there was a dreadful turn and I noticed Tiger wasn't drinking Zubat milk, he just wanted to cuddle next to me. I thought he had the flu or something so i skipped the day at course and took him into the vet and it turns out he was dying. I can't remember what the cause was but i had in my head that it was Anemia and fleas done this and blaming myself for where he ended up. It broke my heart to pieces literally crying my eyes out at the vet while im giving him loves and cuddles. I was so overwhelmed that I blanked out and i wasn't really listening to the animal doctor. However he gave me some options, one the kitten needed a blood transfusion but even then that cost thousands and it's not 100% that it'll work. The 2nd option was to put him too sleep and even though i didn't want to i hated myself for doing it but i but my little boy to sleep. The vet doctor told me to watch the 2 siblings incase they end up in the same way and im fighting every day to keep them healthy. 3 Weeks later i come back home from work and Zubat died i'm assuming she was hit by a car. It's been a terrible start of the year losing 2 of my pets in the same year. I'm doing my best to take care of the 2 youngest kittens as well as Zubats 6 month old oldest kitten and he does do a brilliant job taking care of them. im so sorry for your lost it is devastating and i hope you recover from it soon

the mother cat brings him everywhere I feel like the mother want her kitten to see the world to make it happy since its sick. like parents who got a daughter or son that has cancer give them everything show them the world while they still lives. that is how I see what the mother cat did to her kitten showing him the world helping him walk and put him back to the den when it's time to go back home. But the question is we don't know what animals are thinking they have emotions like human they can also dream like people do when they sleep.

I probably would have left them to their own devices. I think telling people to step into the way of wild/stray animals sets a present that you have to do something when in reality sometimes its just nature taking its course.

Have you considered doing TNR (trap neuter return) with the colony? That way they don’t keep reproducing and you can stop the overpopulation abc suffering that the kittens endure being born outside. Thank you for helping those little ones! You seem like you have a huge heart.

I see no wrong with mom and dad cats. Dad defend for mom as she watch her little Berlin in the open, a place we may call Hospital, to a chance for little Berlin to recover without risking siblings to a possible transmittable decease. And if little Berlin is stable that day mom just carry him back home by dusk to try again next day, or if otherwise getting sicker, they will leave Berlin behind in the open (away from their den) to predators and rescuers. We can’t, but moms cat knows her baby’s health condition by sniffing their odor from perspiration, breath, pee and poop. Love and rationality in harmony isn’t exclusive to humans.

My take on it is 2 healthy normal feral kitten litters. 12 kittens and one runt,that`s pretty good. Be it in the wild or domestic,most dogs or cats who have kittens and pups nearly always have a runt or two in the litter. Both mums look well fed and very good mums cleaning and raising their babies. I think the kindest thing you should of done is leave them well alone. To take all them kittens away from their parents is pretty damn cruel and selfish. You have to allow nature to run its course,the strongest survive. It`s not a fairy tale,it`s called life. 2 happy,healthy cat families have been broken here. You should of let them be...

Good of you to take the time and effort to post your works. You can't interject your human emotions and nature into this situation. No one knows what these feral cats do and are up to. Personally, I can't stand them. But, you do and lent your emotions to helping these kittens out. Hopefully they were adopted and raised (and 'fixed') well. Dead kittens aren't your responsibility. I may sound mean here but I'm not. I've seen this same thing when I was a kid. I saw it so much I learned what it was and could recognize it right away. One kitten per litter would usually die even if they were being cared for by their feral mother. I thought the black cat was the mother, that's how they usually look when they reject kittens. Anyway, until ferals are taken off the streets this will go on and on. If I win the lottery I'll set up a fund for capturing and 'fixing' all feral cats and dogs. After that, well, not much you can do.

Every feral should be trapped, spayed/neutered and released if not adopted. EVERY. Ask local shelters which ones are kill, overfilled, which do free spay/neuter, surrender process, etc. ASK ASK ASK.
