This is my review of the Kiwi Ears Quartet and a comparison with the Truthear Hexa and slight comparison with the Seeaudio Rinko.

Just ordered me a set on Amazon. Got me a set coming with the purple upgrade cable. Sic. This set should be right in my wheelhouse. A perfect contrast to my more detail centric iem collection.

I think at this price range the EA 500 for about $70 is going to be the best option. Hexa sounds boring and lacking energy. Quartet is $50 more. Ea500 is the best deal

Nice review bro, I want to ask you!!! My core music is d&b, trance, cloud rap, electronic, rock and metal, do you think that the Rinko or the KIWI would be better with this? The review you did about the RInko gave me a lot of hype and my additional question is it enough to buy the Abigail PRO Dac to move them okay (Rinko) on my cell phone or do I need a more powerful Dac ? ( I don't have enough cash xd) Thanks for your time!!!

Thanks! I think for your situation I'd prefer the Rinko. They both would be great for your preferred genres. If you want more soundstage you should go for the quartet though. Rinko does it's bass a lot better in my opinion and is more fun 🙂

I have decided to return this product tomorrow. I am convinced that the item we received is defective, the tuning configuration does not work at all

Give the down up switch position a longer try. It has slightly more energy in the upper mid and low treble, so better detail in mids and more open female vocals…and a tiny bit less bass at the sub-bass end which cuts the occasional boom. At least to my ears. :)

I'll try that out, but from my testing I couldn't hear a difference at all. When I use it I might just switch it to that anyway since the difference is so small ig why not right? 😆 Thanks! 😄

@@PraisedAudio interestingly, I also feel the same. When I got mine, I was a bit curious why both the switches are switched up when other reviewers told they were both switched down by default. I tried different combinations with 2 songs, Jai Ho and Dahan dahan, but couldn't tell the difference. I am mildly annoyed, but comparing this to my T3+ and KQZ HBB, this tuning is something special too and something I can appreciate. Ima give it more time

I might consider returning this set. As much as I enjoy it in the last 12hrs+, I am bothered that the set that we got have faulty switches and that we are only experiencing the sound profile when both switches are up. I was excited to compare the sound profiles with different switch settings and this is a letdown

@@brownwallet942 Mine came with both switches up. :) It is actually hard to tell whether the switches are up or down…the travel is minimal.

@@StephenIngraham thank you for your feedback, sir! Im thinking of giving it more time. But I'm currently using the down up switch setting and it still kinda feels that in some songs, the bass overpowers the vocals. If you try listening to this song 以我之軀-吟唱版 you will know what I mean

This one has really gotten some mixed reviews. Almost a split down the middle between the ones that consider it good and the ones that consider it mediocre to poor for the price (from what I've seen, anyway). The major complaints I've heard is concerning the quality of the BAs and some BA tambre. I think I'll pick it up at some point but maybe wait for a sale for better value. 🤔 I do have the Rinko already so it kind of helped that you included it in the comparisons. Yeah, I've seen the same thing about the switches. Some reviewers say they change the sound, others say they do nothing. I can say on my pair, the switches definitely change the sound. Both switches down sounds fairly neutral, with a slight base boost. Switch 1 down and 2 up sounds like they follow the Harmon curve. 1 up and 2 down just boosted bass, but the rest sounded meh to me (I didn't like that switch config), and both switches up sounded more V shaped. I've quite enjoyed my pair, and haven't noticed BA timbre problems.
