Despite his miming of "emotions", there is no mystique or deep feeling, only the notes and nothing behind the notes. Brahms is beyond the grasp of this superficial conductor. Great horn playing though.

Poor Chicago and Amsterdam as top orchestras in the world. They have chosen him as their music director designated. 😉

@@haochide6500 Amsterdam is a "top" orchestra, Chicago is not. What Chicago has is plenty of money, and that is what attracts the Ken Doll to Chicago. Amsterdam has limited appeal to conductors ever since they fired Gatti, so they *have* to go for a pretty boy with no experience hoping at least he will sell.
