I'll never forget. 2019 NBA Finals game 1. I got there early and Klay was out there warming up. He had me shook. Every shot was going in. His shot was so smooth. It was art 🎨

Klay’s jumper is so pure. His gooseneck follow through is so consistent. I’ve tried to copy it but he uses so little dip I can’t get any range on it. I don’t think Steph’s mechanics are as consistent but he has so much hand eye coordination and his low set point allows him so much range. I’m trying to mimic that and getting better range but I wish I could shoot like Klay. So pure. Now he just needs to work on his layups so he can get into the 50-40-90 club.

Nah bro, at first i was thinking like you, but also curry has a high set point and the range it's not a "dip" thing, it's more when you're using the legs and how fluide you are with the flick, look how fast klay release the ball after it reached his set point, the more you train, the more you begin to understand it

Curry also practices taking shots out of all types of “bad” angles and looks, so that he can do it in games.

He has a dip. He just also has a deeper knee bend than Steph to compensate for it. Steve Nash did the same thing. They use their legs to generate power, so they don't have to dip as much and use as much momentum. Steph has less knee bend, but he has a a bigger dip as a result.

When you say dip you mean catch the ball and shoot or off the dribble? He literally is dipping before he dribbles but I didn't see the catch n shoot

Nigel Hayes was one of those guys that I thought was going to go from undrafted to standout NBA player. His height, length, weight, and quickness should have made him a modern swiss-army knife. The kind that every team loves these days. For some reason the NBA just never gave him a real chance. Glad he's still putting in work - cause there's no time like today to get picked up

i reckon most decent shooters in the nba can hang with klay and steph in 3 point shooting in practice. But in real games - its a different stories. You hear stories of dwight howard and other awful freethrow shooters sinking many in a row consistently in practice.

Does Klay stand out as a top 4 shooter of all time in drills or do other great shooters perform similar consistently? Wondering if these drills show their level of shot making accurately compared to in game stats.

I think it was Steph who said before that very many NBA players can go practice after practice without barely missing, so everyone looks like a great shooter, but then there's a huge drop off from the few guys who can shoot at that same clip when it actually matters, and everyone else.

in all honesty i would tell klay stop shooting work on handles and become a shot creator. spotting up and off ball movement will mess up his legs. he needs to let his hands decide if he gone take lays or middies. being 6'7 running off ball can destroy yo legs
