Күн бұрынFrom Klein&, here is a sample reel from 1978 with IDs and image promos from WFSB, WBZ, KYW, WPLG, WDIV, KPIX, and others. Some have been seen before, but there might be a few new ones. A clean version of Direct Connection is at the end. (My all-time favorite!)

The music is from Dick Hamilton and the Ron Hicklin Singers. They and Klein& were a great team.

Our local news culture here in the us is distinct in this world and this whole clip shows what that was like in the 70s.

Also first use of digital CG in a channel ID and ad campaign. The one and only campaign started a WTOP 9 and spread. Just to clarify unlike Scanimate, which came first, it was fully digital and recorded on to film, Scanimate was analogue and operated like a Moog or an effects pedal bending and reshaping scanned in images.

The clip at 1:16 sounds like the Donny Hathaway/Roberta Flack version of "Where is the Love?". Beautiful composition.

Klein& tried to make a comeback in the 2000’s, but it didn’t last long. They billed themselves as “The Image Doctor”.
