I plated Cars As Fast As Lightning so much as a kid. It was addictive.

I will forever miss Cars As Fast As Lightning

I can confirm that Cars: Fast as Lighting is probably the best Cars game I've ever played other than Cars 2 on PS3 and 360. It's just SOOO FUN for a such a simple mobile game!

So a little info about the Cars Daredevil Garage app. The app shut down in 2017 cause it didn’t work, yes you can scan a car, but 70% of the time it will give you the wrong car. I scanned Lizzie and it gave me Guido. That’s basically the gist of it. Also you can’t customize tracks, your only given 3 tracks and have to pay for 2 more (there basically reskins). The community in 2016 hated the app and retaliated by starting off there video by wanting everyone to make a video deleting the app, which so many people did it. So eventually the app got taken down, and Mattel stopped promoting the app. Also what’s funny is the game was gonna add the Cars 3 diecast toys but never did.

Cars appmates was my childhood, you didnt even need the toys to play, there were so many characters, worlds and things to do in it. I miss it so much

This video brought back a lot of nostalgia for me. I used to see tons of ads for WGP Read & Race and the AppMATes, and I always wanted to play them. I used to play Fast as Lightning and Lightning League every weekend at my grandma's (may her tablet rest in peace), and I played a lot of Daredevil Garage on my aunt's phone. Hell, I even tried getting Fast as Lightning on my phone about a year ago, and it didn't work. As soon as we invent time travel, the first thing I'll do is attempt to preserve these mobile games.

Man those Cars 2 games were great, I can't believe that Cars 2 Appmate is lost Media. I used to play that game alot.

Fast as lightning is my favorite not only because I played it a lot when I was younger but it was not bad, ok sure it is not as great as the 1st 3 Cars games and Cars 2 but all the content that was in the game like all the buildings, track parts and most importantly the paint jobs for all the characters went hard, it’s a shame it is no longer being supported

I'm really impressed by the first Java game! Also, it killed me seeing the kachiga meme in text. The toys to life stuff was pretty interesting, especially the one where you put the actual toy on your tablet (doesn't look *good*, but it's interesting), and I really want to know how on earth a Cars audio game is meant to work. And why it was even a thing 😂. Great video, as always!

Cars: Fast as Lightning can still be played offline, you have to download cache files from...sources. The only problem is that you have to put the cache in the android/data folder, which is locked down on newer versions of android, so without adb or root it is more difficult to do. Another problem is that on android 14 and newer you have to modify the apk (or use the app "Install with options") to remove the minimum Android Sdk Requirement form the apk itself.

We need to work hand in hand to tell Disney Pixar Cars and also Gameloft to make new Cars Game with Car customization and open world gameplay 😢❤️❤️

I used to play the Appmates game on my old Ipad! I was lucky to own the Lightning McQueen toy but fun fact: if you didnt you could use an in-game paper cut-out of Lightning!

man, seeing the cars 2 mobile game put a smile on my face. it's simple, looking back it may not be very good, but it's something i have nostalgia for. i haven't thought about it for probably a decade or longer, but i definitely recognize the gameplay when i see it. looks a lot worse than I remember though.

Man I played almost all of these. One of my favourites was the WGP Read Race one, since you could customize WGP cars. Plus if anyone again tries to get Cars Fast As Lighting even as APK, it’ll make you stuck on the downloading screen lol

Gotta disagree with 4:02, Cars 2 java is one of my favorite mobile cars games, I played it for hours on my nokia during the childhood, I remember being so innocent that the gameplay of just going forward and defeating zundapp's henchmen would be fun as heck as well as using maters special abilities that would be unlocked in continuing levels, so much nostalgia I wish to download this game on my phone again, good times.

Cars 2 Appmates was a massive part of my childhood, so there is someone in a rush to bring it back. That said, I dont know if I have the capability to do so. I DO have an ipad wit it installed, but I beleive the ipad is long dead.

I actually have Cars Daredevil Garage still to this day on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I downloaded it 2016-2018 (I don't remember),on an iPhone 4,I had every singe character and tracks unlocked. And now that I recently reinstalled and found it. I can't even unlock the other 2 characters and tracks. MY GOD did this game age well!

I hope Cars and Mater National on Java gets ported to Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Bootleg Cartridges. Also Cars Fast as Lightning was so peak back in the day, I sucked at it but I loved it and I remember when the main Cars 3 trailer came out in what? April 2017? That I wished they added Cruz and Jackson Storm to the game and I somehow didn’t notice it had long been delisted by that point.

In my opinion every Java game here is better than Android/iOS games. I remember playing all these Java games and generally I agree with you. Cars is simple example how make good game on movie base. RS500 was quite cool and Hotshot also. I liked even Cars 2 because I think it matched to movie style, simple platform game but quite fun. I wasn't playing Android games beside Lightning League but I removed it quickly because it was crap to be honest.

OH MY GOD! SOMEONE ACTUALLY POINTED OUT APPMATES! I STILL HAVE THE TOYS, sadly the app was linked to my dad's old ios account which is lost, BUT IT WAS THE COOLEST GAME. Even if you did not have a toy, it would let you play with a paper-like lightning on screen figure, but a lot of the missions and stuff required the toy or a different character to to play specific events or just character locked content. IT WAS SO THO! If an ipa is ever released of this, 100% replaying it!
