I review the Klim Marrakesh and explain why I think it's the most comfortable gear in the world. With a fully breathable and stretch construction, plus CE AA protection and full CE1 armor, it's not only super comfortable but also protective. Layer up for nearly 4-season and RTW riding. #motorcycle #advrider #dualsport #klim #ride

I think that's actually a good thing. With the right base layer like LD Comfort or Merino wool, you can wick away perspiration and it doesn't get blown away like a hair dryer mesh jacket before it gets the chance to cool you off.

I love my Marrakesh jacket, it is the most comfortable jacket I’ve ever owned. Like you say, combine it with layers and it is all year round comfortable. I have the Klim Zephyr windproof shirt and a heated jacket underneath it on colder days and a Scott waterproof jacket over the top for when it rains. In the summer it is the coolest most comfortable jacket whilst keeping me well protected with it’s 1000 denier construction along with the ghost armour, every panel of the jacket flows air through, it’s brilliant

I have the Marrakesh and have toured in it in 35-90F temps so far. I upgraded to L2 armor and wear an airbag vest under the jacket. With layering, this is my 4-season jacket. Klim Forecast Gore-Tex outer shell is also a good breathable windbreaker.

Great honest review. I've pieced together 2 sets of gear. I think I have a used version 1.0 of this and I agree. I live in the south east and we have 2+ cold months and 8 great months of 60-85 degrees (usually with a 30=60 minute rain shower) and 2 months of HOT and HUMID. This and a few well picked layers may be the answer for most of my year. And it looked great on that cruiser too. I have a Pan America and an older Road King and I've never been the denim and leather guy. Great stuff!!!!

Agreed on the comfort of the jacket, definitely one of my favorites. I would encourage those looking to buy one to take a good look at the sizing, they seem to run big. I’m 5’11” 170lbs and ended up buying a size small. For context I wear Rev’it and Alpinestars jackets in a size large.

💯 Size down for sure. I’m normally a large in everything. Even an XL in some Revit. A medium is perfect if not still a bit roomy. I also immediately ditched the ghost armor and added the traditional LP2 D3O throughout. This made it fit even better.

I crashed with these on the other day, around 50mph, saved me from allot of road rash but not a broken fibula. Honestly tho It might have saved me from allot worse thanks to the CE2 pads I had in it. The jacket has light touches wear but still usable. The pants are smoked, torn near the right knee. I’ll definitely be buying again. I got 5 sets of Klim and these and the Bajas are my most used. With the Marrakesh I layer and it’s comfy from 34-80 degrees. I barely use my heavier Klim sets because it’s that good.

I just returned a st of S4 in favor of the Marrakesh. Buying on line is a pain so I made the trip down to Revzilla to try and compare before I used the S4 (was doubting my decision), glad I did (though the S4 is very nice as well, just a bit heavier than I wanted for the summer). I will still use my Latitude set for colder weather.

Great review Ian 👍🏻have a question ref its 4 way stretch, so if I crash (on or off road) will the armour just be pushed away from the knees, shoulders or elbows? Would the S4 be better for crash protection. I’m looking for a summer suit to stay cool and the S4 and Marrakesh are on the shortlist.

I have both the Marrakesh jacket and pants. In temps below 60 degrees (f) - the Klim lightweight Zephyr shell pairs really well, worn underneath, to cut the airflow against the skin. The Pants are 3 and maybe 4 season - in cooler weather I wear a base-layer long-john and i am good to 30 degrees F (with a different jacket obviously). Sizing on the jacket can be hard to nail down - thankfully Klim is very forgiving on returns for size issues. Very high quality. Highly recommended.

Klim's nod to actual fashion =) I have one in light gray and I call it my Sunday-go-to-meeting outfit. This is what I wear with riding jeans for a day ride. I have a Baja S4...I had wanted a Marrakesh jacket but couldnt justify the cost, but then I was at the local dealer with my wife and I tried it on for her. She bought it for me on the spot! I still wear the Baja for trips and off road (not sure how abrasion tolerant the M'kesh is), but the fit and look of this jacket compares to anything the Dutch or Italians make (mine replaced a Rev'it Airwave...I like the longer cut of the Klim too). Depending on weather, time of the day, etc., I will wear it with my heated jacket liner for cold temps, or just carry a windbreaker and a fleece, good to go. My new MSR mid-layer is perfect for it. Mine is a couple years old...have they added a pants connection zipper or strap to them?

I do love my Marrakesh jacket and pants and I wear them a lot of the time. Above 90F I switch to the Klim Induction Jacket for better airflow. This either jacket and M pant combined with rain over jacket and pant combined with heated vest and puff jacket will take you from freezing to 100 with comfort. The M jacket breathes but the Induction Jacket really flows much better. Best of all the flexible fabric is way comfortable. Go with a light color for warmish days. Ian is spot on. Also for road rides, I started wearing the new Helite 2 tethered (non-electronic) vest. Having tried both styles (over and under air-vest), I find the Helite II over-vest cooler in hot weather than the under-jacket vests. Perhaps a review idea for BRM.

It's the perfect jacket if you wear an airbag vest too as the Marrakesh is so stretchy you can wear a tight fitting one and it'll still work well with the airbag. I wear the Klim switchback pants or Rokker riding jeans with it. The Switchbacks fit better over chunky ADV books than the Marrakesh ones

Hey Ian what do you think about the the alpinestar RT-8? I currently run them as my everyday everything boots (& my first full/mid height boot) I never wore any other motoboot long term so I don't know how it compares. I find them pretty breathable and doesn't sog up. But on longer rides when I dance a bit more on the peg I get callus build up on my big toe and sometimes I pinch my pinky toe if I push my foot forward in the boot. My right boot's toe cap is also cracked, although the plastic strike plate underneath is intact.

@Rob801
@Rob801 Ай бұрын
I am also roughly the same build. Maybe a tad larger upper body but not by much. I tried a large on yesterday at Revzilla in Newport Beach, with a Klim Ai-1 vest (which I also own), with help and advice from the staff (wanted to make sure there was still enough room for deployment despite the jackets not being baggy on me), and the fit was perfect. The extra large was way too big in the shoulders and too long. My arms are pretty long as well, and the sleeve length was fine on the large. Now I am just having a really hard time deciding between the Marrakesh and the Baja S4. The Marrakesh is VERY comfortable, but at the same time, I will sometimes be riding in 100+ temps and the S4 flows more air but is heavier). I may eventually own both but for now need to decide between one or the other (pant and jacket). The Marrakesh 36" regular pant fit me well (I have a 32/33" inseam). Sizing for me was consistent with the Marrakesh, Baja S4 and with the Latitude set which I already own.

I can't find a connecting zipper between pants and jacket. Hopefully I'm wrong that a $1100 suit, by the time I have it at my doorstep, actually has this feature. I'd be more than willing to spend the money, but without the zipper it's a dealbreaker for me. Otherwise, the only hot weather suit, that's available in a light colour and with said zipper, is the BMW Aravis Air. Are there really no zippers and if so, are there any other suits, that have them?

I have been very happy with my Latitude set for cooler weather (between 40 and 75 degrees F roughly, could maybe go to 80 as long as not stop and go). Not as light as Marrakesh of course, but also not as extreme as Carlsbad or Badlands. Gore Tex so should handle the rain no problem.
