A full carbon fiber shell in a modular design is a rare thing to find. To fill that gap, Klim introduced the new TK1200 helmet that comes complete with a Transitions face shield, Pinlock lens insert, and intelligent ventilation that allows for high-volume airflow without disturbing the acoustically engineered aspects of the TK1200 experience. Additional features of the Klim TK1200 include a quick-release micro-metric buckle closure, 3D inner comfort liner, and a chinbar that has been specially-designed to better disperse the forces of an impact more efficiently in the event of a crash.

I disagree on the head shape. My head is a long oval, and my perfect helmet has been so far the Arai Signet Q or Signet X, both of whom are long ovals. But lately I have been looking for a new helmet and I got to try the TK1200 this weekend, and lo and behold it fits me like a glove, definitely a long oval like the two Arai. My major gripe with this Klim helmet is that it is very easy to put on, but very hard to remove, for some odd reason. No matter what position I try to remove it it always feels like it is squeezing my temples on the way out. Great helmet otherwise.

.. this helmet confuses me... I find the drop-down sunshade that they did away with very useful and practical when I need to ride with my lid up... what do I do here? Stop and get the sunglasses out? Then stop and put them away when I put the lid down? ... rinse and repeat?

Long oval's rejoice. I have this helmet in matte white. It is the first one to fit well in many years. My melon keeps getting longer and narrower with age...I Love it. Came from a SHOEI multi-Tec with a forehead hotspot.

I love that the chin bar rotates back and away on this! I just wish someone would make a good quality, long oval modular helmet. (Manufacturers and designers take note. Lol.)

Drewzilla you seem to get back to people quick. shoei, klim, schuberth. whats the quietest/ nicest? (-i know i know i know, - no such thing as a quiet helmet.... only good earplugs. but still, whos the best? )- or would it just depend on if you can get one on sale?

Well I certainly try to be prompt in my replies haha! To answer your question, Shoei and Schuberth are the nicest and quietest (Neotec and C3 Pro/C4). The TK1200 is certainly nice and light, but it's also not quiet. I ride a '17 roadglide ultra, so with the fairing factored in for touring, how would you rate this from a ventilation standpoint? I'm in nor calif so we deal with HOT summers out here. Everything about this helmet I love, but would like your input on this matter, or recommendation on another helmet that would do better with air flow, but with the same basic features. I doubt their is one though when factoring in weight, carbon, and shield..... thanks alot.

The ventilation is actually pretty good, especially for a modular helmet, and you're right that there's nothing else available in carbon with a Transitions photochromic shield and Pinlock anti-fog insert. I am looking to order the Schuberth C3 Pro Echo when it comes out. However, this looks to be a good option for a bit less ....about $250.00USD less. I'm not sure. Still leaning towards the C3 Pro. Interestingly enough, I think both helmets would prove difficult to use my Sena 10C clamp mount. Good video on this helmet by the way.

Thanks. Interesting as I thought that the drop down sun visor lever would prevent using the Sena 10C clam on the left side, which is where I'd want to mount it.

I have a Sena 10C too, but the main reason I got it was because of the clamp on the side feature. It does come with an optional sticky mount, but I just didn't want to stick glue something to my helmet(s).

It's a tie. +RevZilla it's fine! love the channel btw, it's helped me a lot, also a technical question. how many miles can a yamaha yzf 125 cc go before the engine is dead. with regular check ups and liquid/filter/pad changes.

That's hard to say, as it's a pretty reliable engine. If you take care of it, the engine might last longer than the rest of the bike. -DrewZilla
