1902 eröffnet, damals noch an anderer Stelle, die heute als Kehranlage dient. 1907 wurde dann dieser wegen Streckenerweiterung bereits geschlossen und dafür der neue Bahnhof Leipziger Platz eröffnet, der 1923 dann wieder den Namen Potsdamer Platz erhielt. Von 1961-1993 war der Bahnhof wegen der Teilung der Stadt und der Lage im Grenzgebiet geschlossen und diente der BVB als Abstellanlage für Züge. Er wurde vollständig restauriert und wurde im originalem Design gestaltet. Der Bahnhof ist heute ein wichtiger Knotenpunkt und bietet Umstieg zur S-Bahn, Regionalzügen der Deutschen Bahn und dem Connex nach Leipzig.
Opened in 1902. The old station got closed in 1907 and therefore the new station Leipziger Platz opened not far away because of extension of the line. 1923 it was renamed to Potsdamer Platz again. From 1961-1993 it was closed because of the division of the city and the location in the border area.
The BVB used it then to park there rolling stock here. It was renovated before the re-opening in 1993 in its original design. Today it is an important station and one can change to the S-Bahn, regional trains of the DB and the Connex to Leipzig.
