Great video. What's interesting to me is that my first printer was a Zortrax m200 6-7 years ago and this feature was already in their proprietary software then. I've been doing prints with 5 or 6 color changes with ease for years. I'm surprised it's taken this long for other slicers to add it.

I am very new to Klipper. I did a test print with the M600 and it seemed to work. I am now trying it on the project I dove into all of this for, but I have a question. There was a 1 hour timeout timer, if I am not in front of my printer when it times out, the print would be cancelled. Any advice on how to extend the timer or such? Thank you for your time.

I'm looking for help. I would like to be able to change the filament manually. I don't have a runout sensor and I have spools that won't finish some jobs and I have a new spool also rather than start with the fresh spool I want to run it down than do a filament change when I want. If I use the puase it will park the print head immediately and than I can change the filament and than when I resume it will start on the very next layer because puase will stop on its current layer so when I resume what ever part of the layer that wasn't finished will have a layer missing. I need a solution

Thanks for the instruction. I am not able to get it to work, it shows me this message and I don't know why: "gcode command M600 already registered Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the "RESTART" command to reload the config and restart the host software. Printer is halted"

@gofreboy
@gofreboy 11 ай бұрын
@@auntiegymshoe Yes, the M600 code is declared in a "hidden" file. The easiest way without having to search and modify it is to add the macro M600 to the printer.cfg and inside it and at the beginning add: "rename_existing: (the name you want without the parentheses, for example M600.1)". For example, as I have the macro and the previous line is: [gcode_macro M600] rename_existing: M600.1 gcode: {% set X = params.X|default(50)|float %} {% set Y = params.Y|default(0)|float %} {% set Z = params.Z|default(10)|float %} SAVE_GCODE_STATE NAME=M600_state PAUSE G91 G1 E-.8 F2700 G1 Z{Z} G90 G1 X{X} Y{Y} F3000 G91 G1 E-50 F1000 RESTORE_GCODE_STATE NAME=M600_state

Great video. Use the same macro, but if I don't change the filament for a long time (About 2-3hrs) after I change it, it asks me to home the printer. I can't home it, because I have safe homing enabled. Does anyone else face the same issue?

@cdsmakestuff
@cdsmakestuff Жыл бұрын
it asks you to do a "home" because you're waiting too long... klipper has built in safety features that after a certain amount of time of inactivity, it will power down the motors, turn off the hotend and bed... once this happens the printer has no idea where the tool head is and as such, can't resume. I believe there's a way to increase the "timeout" length but wouldn't recommend it... 2-3 hrs seems an overly long time to sit between a filament change anyway.
@priyan776
@priyan776 Жыл бұрын
@cdsmakestuff awesome, I didn't know that. I'll look into it. I print overnight, and I use the same M600 for filament run-out sensor as well. When I was using Marlin, it waited for me as long as power was on. I was expecting the same... lol. But nozzle cools down, only the bed and the motors stay on.

I feel like I must warn you about your Hurakan. If you take off the gantry, and remove the bottom plate, and look at what's connected to the FG post of that printer, you will see TWO GROUND WIRES going to that post. One comes from the cross member of the frame (between the power supply and the control board), and the other ground comes from the switch/power supply coming into the printer. From everything I've read, and from the horrible experience I've had with my Hurakan, there is a real possibility of a horrible electrical event happening because there are two ground wires on that post. Please check your printer, and please comment. thank you.
@shawnr8164
@shawnr8164 Жыл бұрын
As long as they are both ac ground lines that's fine, it wouldn't be up to code without it most places, actually it's good to have multiple grounding points. They are both going to the same ground connection at the power inlet anyway.
@corlissmedia2.0
@corlissmedia2.0 Жыл бұрын
@@shawnr8164 one ground is from the power inlet, the other is from the frame. from the factory, they're both open-spade connections. when you do resonance testing, the vibration _can_ shake at least one of those two connectors out it's capture. that's what happened to me. the loose from was from the power inlet. when the wiring I had do to put a better hot end on the printer, all heck broke loose. I lost the complete wiring harness to the board, the board itself, three of the four stepper drivers, the hdmi port, and the " BIQU monitor I had plugged into the printer. I replaced the open spade connectors with ring connectors, which can't be vibrated off the FG post. Only cost me three months and $300 for all the parts I had to replace.
