Love Klipsch speakers. Over the last 15 years, I’ve had 3 different lines of their speakers, dual subs and their pro media speakers for my computer. Always loved how my music and movies sound. I don’t see myself ever leaving Klipsch. These look great. I’m very interested to hear them. 👍🏻

Look like a great option for the powered speakers market. The switch for L or R, ARC, and crossover when adding sub are great additions. I like the looks as well. Great job Klipsch!!

I recognize this 4-wire plug. It’s the same that Neware uses for connecting channels to it’s battery testers. I was able to source it from some places in China. It is a 1950’s CB radio connector. It’s very cheap.

Yub, those are simple 4 pin GX-12 or GX-16 "aviation" connectors, readily available from the usual Chinese suspects for next to nothing. Or simple open them, remove the old and solder in some longer, or shorter cable. I'm looking into getting these and the cable would be hard to hide where and how I want to set them up. Might invest the time to make a braided cable with matching paracord sleeving so it looks nice.

HDMI ARC is a game changer for speakers. Basically, no receiver needed for stereo or 2.1 setup with a TV, which is what majority of the people want if I have to guess correctly. Don't know why it took this long. Klipsch are going to sell these by the thousands if they can market to the right crowd. If you look at stereo amps that have HDMI, they are selling for $2000+.

I absolutely love these things. I had a chance to audition them at my leisure at a friend’s home. I have to include a single caveat. Without a sub, they are completely different and vastly inferior speakers. The main boxes just have no business reproducing the bottom octave. With a sub, and I mean any sub, the performance of the mains are stunning. Very well balanced with low distortion. Ask them to operate without sub and you would think it’s a different product, honestly awful low freq reproduction. I’ve never seen any speaker with such a Jekyll/Hyde behavior.
@AudioAdvice

They do come alive with a sub as the electronics in the speaker remove the deep bass from it when you add the sub. Thanks for watching and sharing

@@AudioAdvice The small cone is overloaded by the effort of working without a sub. Simple physics will not be fooled. It sounds infinitely better with an unconnected plug in the Sub Out jack.

With what Klipsch do they sound more similar? From size they look very similar to the R-51M, but I think the woofer is smaller? Would be great if you gave a comparison with other Klipsch speakers. Because is they sound like the 51M, which go for 200 dollars and not the 600M, I cant really justify 600 dollars worth of amp components... Maybe because they have a dedicated 60w on the woofer they might sound better than a 51M. But if they sound like the 600Ms, then... oh boy... these are going to fly off the shelves...

I finally got a pair of these from Audioadvice.com when they came back in stock. I could not be happier with these super versatile speakers. I am a music first guy. My wife watches a lot of TV and this way we both get convenience and excellent performance in a classy looking package that punches well above it’s weight class. These things sound great and can get really loud. You won’t need a sub at all. I am probably going to add one just for the extra flexibility in positioning and tuning. I feel like these are a steal at $800.
@rreichar1

Just an FYI I ended up adding the RSW100 Klipsch sub and it really was a game changer for me. I thought I couldn’t be happier but now aI am. These speakers in a good sized room have no problem plying very loud. Great sound quality. The high end, in particular, is very nice. I always have thought of Klipsch speakers as being “bright”. These are smooth. Excellent high end but it’s not too forward. Great soundstage. With the addition of the sub I found I have a little more flexibility in placement. Without the sub they could be a bit boomy if within a couple if feet from a wall. With the sub I have them about 14 inches from the wall with no boominess. Great speakers!

Wondering how these are different and/or better than the "Sixes" that were just clearanced and end dated back in March for ~$300. I believe those had most of the features of the fives. The sixes had: 1” Titanium-loaded Tweeters with Tractrix Horns 6.5” Woofers with a Ported Enclosure While the Fives have a 4.5 inch woofer that may struggle with any mid-low bass.

@@905gtrucker9 These speakers with a sub are awesome!! The build quality is fantastic and they look great. I'm still trying to work on hiding wires and such, but that will happen. Aesthetics aside, they are really versatile. I will say that playing music on them is a better experience than tv, but tv is still solid. But I think that's because dialing in the sub for things like movies and shows is a bit trickier than with music. My only real challenge is my room itself. I have an open floor plan so the sound can sometimes seem like I could really benefit from having a satellite speaker or even a center speaker to fill in some small losses in projection, especially with dialogue in certain movie scenes. But that is really more of a room design thing. Finally, these are just great if you need a do it all system that allows for varied methods of connection. Bluetooth, eARC, aux... it's just right there in one compact package. In a smaller room, I would say to give them a go without an external sub. But a sub never hurts and becomes essential in larger rooms or open space floor plans, imho.

HI Sybo. While not the same as e-ARC, which would be useful for a true Dolby Atmos setup, the ARC connection is perfect for 2-channel listening (or Dolby Atmos with some slight compression). Also, there is an app for your smartphone! It's called the Klipsch Connect app on the Apple App Store, and there is a big update coming to it soon for The Fives that will give this speaker system new features. AudioAdvice purchases will receive our tips and tricks setup guide that will help you get the most out these speakers using the app too. @@Phillyo118 The 6s were $800 and these are smaller speakers. I totally get the improvements made, but for most people $900 is just too high for something that still will need a sub to sound great. $695 would be a much better starting point.

Very disappointed that nobody (especially Klipsh) indicate what audio formats are supported and if it supports EARC. (by the way ARC is a old standard that is dying) EARC is the way to go. I'm afraid no sound will come out of these speakers once you play a bluray with DTSHDMA audio track. Just like the useless Sonos ARC

You change the sound output to PCM. I don't think people are understanding what these are.

$800 for a pair with no WiFi streaming?

Yeah... They look like the 51M with a D-class amp, and some nice connectivity. If they sound like the 51M, can't really see where the extra 600 dollars go to.
@rreichar1

They don’t sound anything like the 51M IMO. Of course audio is subjective so your mileage may vary. I bought a pair of these and I am very happy with them. I have them paired with a smaller Klipsch sub and honestly I couldn’t ask for anything more.

@@troywalt4834 I have had two. Now it’s an R-120 SW. I had whatever the cheapest 12 inch Reference series sub is called (I don’t remember) but it would occasionally turn off for no reason so I returned it. It was a refurb or an open box from Amazon. They did eventually replace it but I had bought the other and didn’t notice a significant difference so I gave the replacement ot my son. I am happy with the R-120 SW.

$799 for small bookshelf speakers? Ehh... I know they are likely worth it but I think they missed the price point. $499 would triple the sales and still carry a nice margin

Totally agree those prices are insane and why the hell did they made them so small, I am guessing to market them to people who don't know anything about sound. Also I think they are missing on lot of support for différent technologies like e arc.
