Kevin Nash, wrestling's six-time World Heavyweight Champion and twelve-time Tag Team Champion, is inviting YOU to become an insider in the most exclusive band of rebels in the Podcast sphere! Kevin and his crew grabbed the wrestling business by the sack in the 90s and never let go, making his Kliq the most powerful faction in the history of the business, both on camera and off. They spent countless hours together, riffing on the business, the lifestyle, and everything else under the sun, and this podcast is no exception. Kevin left wrestling and built a successful career as an actor and guest on dozens of talk shows. His opinionated nature has made him the most requested guest of shoot interviews and network shows for more than a decade. Now, Kevin and his frequent host Sean Oliver, bring you all that you loved about their shows in this weekly podcast. No guest or topic is off-limits. Are you sweeeeet enough.......to be the next member of the Kliq?

They know what Nash was saying and the difference between Nash open hand smack Samoa Joe and Piper while CM Punk striked Jack Perry and Nick Jackson (allegedly) wit a closed fist, Nash is making a point that they were plenty of altercations backstage in the 80/90's but the boys would avoid punching you in the face out of respect and because the rest of the lockeroom would shun you (like the did The Mounty Bros)@@squiddwizzard8850

The most interesting thing about this podcast is learning how Kevin Nash never did anything wrong in his career, and whenever someone else does something wrong which he also did, how it still wasn't wrong when he did it. In his mid-60s with some major personal tragedies in the last few years, maybe that insecurity he tried to fill up with money his entire life might have been better served by some honest introspection.

I'd like to hear an admission from Nash that he held guys careers back. He's not alone in that Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold a bit and especially John Cena held guys back either because of a personal dislike or they felt threatened. That seems to be typical behavior for guys that are at the top of the card and want to remain there either outta ego or money or both. I like Nash and think he is one of the more honest and open guys in wrestling.

@jonjohnson1978. Austin refused to work with Marc Mero after he saw Sable powebomb him. Although Mero really shot himself in the foot there. Triple H not jobbing to Booker T was egregious, but on the back hallf of his career he started to put guys over. Seth Rollins was elevated after beating Triple H. If I remember right, Shawn got the belt off Diesel in a time where the economy (94-96ish?) was in shambles. No one had any money to buy wrestling tickets, so I don't think it would have mattered who you had as champion. When he came back I think he was one of those guys that didn't need the belt like Undertaker to be over and a face of the company.

It's not so much about the reasons or justification for the incidents as it is about how the incidents are handled i.e. the golden rule was that if you end up in a fight you don't do something that would stop the other guy from being able to work. I've also heard this over the years from multiple wrestlers of that time, so it isn't something that can really be disagreed with - it was the way it was.

You can say you don't punch your coworker and I get that, but whatever code there is in the back doesn't overrule the law. If someone shoves you, you have every right to defend yourself, punch or otherwise. I hope that's not what happened with the Punk altercation, because Punk would have a great case to sue. Being an above average height person, who has lived enough decades on this Earth, I can appreciate Kevin's and Scott's positions. When you're physically bigger, people make assumptions and use those against you in ways that other people can't imagine. Scott seemed to be fairly level-headed about things; and he impacted Kevin quite a bit. They were somewhat of a Yin/Yang combination, helping each other grow. Listening to Kevin now, I can understand where he's coming from. In some ways I was in similar situations to what he describes. All I can say to those who say that Kevin acts like he can do no wrong, is that you need to walk a mile in our shoes. Nothing is as simple as that. You take far too much for granted.

I don't think Nash saw the fight he did see the aftermath as both Kev and Scott are the ones saying let's get out of here and DDP was thinking if I leave now everyone's gonna think I'm a wimp and they said you stood up to Freakzilla no one thinks that.

Oh so you mean he was a kid with an edge over most other kids, doing what kids with an edge are naturally going to do because kids are kids? No way! Look dude, I was bullied and picked on and beat up too. But someday you need to become an adult and let go.

Chris Jericho in one of his books said during a backstage fight Nash instigated, Nash sat in the corner like a giant praying mantis… and then kept referring to Kevin as “Nash Mantis” afterwards and I haven’t been able to not think of that every time I see Kev. 🤣🤣🤣

The problem is The Elite kicked Punk’s door down looking for a fight when there supposed to be EVP’s of the company. If Tony Khan would be a boss Punk would still be in AEW. Imagine going to work everyday being badgered by children. Jungle Jack shoulda been fired as well. I mean he wanted to use real glass. You of all people Kevin know that’s a bad idea. Ask Goldberg. I think at some point Punk probably decided he had enough. Those guys didn’t want to do business and mend fences and do right by the company. Now look Punk is the biggest thing in Wrestling again while Jungle Jack is off TV and the Young Bucks gotta take time off cause no one cares if they’re in wrestling anymore. And there buddy Hangman was drinking Swerves blood. See a recurring theme.

Me too because the one thing I do not like about the wrestling community both on the wrestler side and the fans side is that there are certain wrestlers that it’s OK to hate and bring up bad things they’ve done but then you’ve got gatekeepers like Dave Melzer kind of pick and choose what stories they want. You’re never going to hear Dave say anything that would make Kevin look good. He’s not going to want to tell stories about how Brett Hart was being a Primadonna, and only thinking of himself. It’s like after 30 years of shoot interviews it does feel like Brett is kind of full of himself, and has no problem with looking out for him and family members that were in the company but if the same thing was done to him or one of his family members Then he’s going to bitch about it. I’ve heard the story about the undertaker, jumping up and yelling at bread because Brett had this idea that no one in the company should be able to do their finish to him in a match . If Nash or HBK said that it would be held over their head forever.

That lack of respect was probably what made Piper lose HIS temper and charge them. Piper, maybe was washed up, was a big draw in the 70s through 80s, way before Hall and Oates rolled in....just sayin' - could have been a tad more respect shown pre-match planning

To be fair, a punch from Punk would likely be far less devastating than an open pal slap from Nash. We've all seen Punk throw ineffective punches, from sucker decking innocent fans to his UFC "career".

I love listening to Kevin speak. Great stories and he seems like a straight up cool dude. You’re good with him, a friend to him, seems like you got a loyal friend for life. However, I gotta respectfully say that Kevin Nash was a fantastic part of the main event but if he had to carry a company on his own as the guy, not sure it works out as well. I’d actually say Razor/Hall was a more valuable piece to any roster. Nash is a great teammate, good tag team and great personality. But no way he Carrie’s anything as *the guy* HBK was *the guy*, Hogan *the guy* Diesel was awesome as HBKs muscle. Perfect for Nash and god knows he’s cleaned up as far as money goes. Brains as well.

The slap vs punch debate here actually varies from man to man. I've seen some men take an open hand slap as a invitation to a fist fight. Others would accept it as a "behave yourself" gesture.

Wow, soooo maybe ive had it all wrong! When we would get into brawls with enemies or friends, or bouncers, we/I always went with the open hand smack to send a message, that this is a warning, I believed the open handed smack was worse than a fist, cuz it’s what ya do to someone you do not respect nor fear! Meaning they don’t deserve a fist. I dono, everyone has a different opinion i guess.
