4 жыл бұрынHey :) Today I am showing you the process of my piece for this months Bad Apple Artist Collective Auction. I tried to show you a bit of everthying, drawing the pencil lineart, trying out the colors on my ipad in procreate and parts of the watercolor painting. I ended up using a bit of gouache on the face to make it a bit more sharp and saturated and overall I am happy with how it turned out. I had the most fun with the hair and kimono and I think you can tell by the amount of detail I put into it :) I hope you enjoyed watching me paint this and see you in the next one! :D

Breaks while working on a piece helps me a lot personally. Sometimes I’m working on piece and then I feel like it’s not going the way I want it to and get so frustrated that I sometimes scrap it. Now when I get that feeling, I take a break. Sometimes I’ll take an hour or an afternoon or even a day and just chip away at it over time. It’s really helped to improve my bad habit of wanting get things done NOW NOW NOW and more importantly it’s stopped me procrastinating when I don’t feel up to it or don’t have tons of time to dedicate to it ❤️

I watched this video when it released and felt so inspired by it. Returning to it, I’m so shocked to find 4 years have passed? Where did those years go, it barely feels like 1!!!

This is just TOO BEAUTIFUL. I cannot get over the way you paint faces, that gouache really gives them a special touch. Also, your LINEART. And the muted palette. Basically everything is gorgeous, let’s leave it at that.

This one is definitely my favorite so far !! The atmosphere, the idea that echoes with the current situation, and especially the kimono pattern with this beautiful obi, and the way the red lace lays on it. A masterpiece ! Thank you so much for this video and your beautiful art. Take care of you ^-^

I absolutely love how the skin tone turned out. Looks so good 💜. And those individual lines for the hair texture?? GET OUT THEY LOOK INCREDIBLE ✨. Also love how you accessorize your drawings. The jewelry and red thread tie everything in so well!

Yeah I couldn't believe I had the patience for it either, stepping away helped a lot tho. I think for the next one I will make even more time for it and work on it throughout the month in small sessions :)

Hard for me not to praise this artwork, it is sincerely the most beautiful thing I've seen you create up until now. I guess the element of being actual and current also helps this one to stand out. The video is also very calming (music fits so well!) and inspiring, provokes me to start painting right away, it's everything I am looking for in an art video - thank you!! And enjoy your day off, after this you deserve at least two :)

When you start painting the scales on the kimono and then switch to the kimona being finished... Stunning! I really like the attention to detail and the whole process. Keep well and stay safe.

I really like drawing with my tablet on Krita and then doing the rest traditionally. Mostly because my lines are much more confident digitally than with pencil haha

I love the feeling of this piece! The desaturated colour palette gives a somewhat serene vibe, I find it so peaceful... you also did an awesome job on detailing hair and the subtle switch of colours on the scales are.. ugggh I don't know what word to use! I doubt I'd be able to bid high enough to get this piece but I'd definitely take a look at the auction!!! I hope the situation in Germany is ok... things are getting worse here in France and I truly hope it doesn't hit neighbouring countries...

Wow this piece is absolutely stunning!..... the details everything . I love watching it very inspirational. I was just wondering if you could do a more detailed video with instructions occasionally so we can learn ? Also is that a light pad that you are painting on? I have one as I’m too scared to damage it with water etc . But it’s seems like a great idea especially for watercolour when you have to soften the lines sometimes I miss an edge as the pencil line is so faint. Any suggestions about painting on a light pad without damaging it and what brand is that ? Thank you 🙏

I always remind myself that it's a process and that I will never be truly happy with anything I do. I like how this turned out but there are soooo many things I wish I would have done differently and don't look as good as I want them to. In 10 years I will be better but I will still dislike things about my art and that's okay :) You don't have to like everything you do and even after the third attempt you still dislike it, that's okay but you tried it and that's what matters in the end. Now you might feel bad because of it but eventually you will start drawing again and with every time you get better and better and this cycle never ends :) I think that's the great thing about art, it will always be a challenge, we will always feel shit that we aren't as good as we want but we will still keep going.
