Klopp is not arguing to get rid of the 12:30 slot, he's arguing for the broadcasters to not pick teams who play Wednesday night for it, something Gary totally omitted. This is disingenuous beyond belief.
@tateosborne6849
@tateosborne6849 3 жыл бұрын
Gary did mention that lad. Klopp isn't arguing to remove the 1230 slot, as you said. Klopp is saying that UCL teams shouldn't have to play in it if they have a game midweek on Wednesday. Gary mentioned it at the beginning, saying that he did it for years at Utd and he totally felt the difference between a 1500 game and a 1230 game. Gary's point is that Klopp is moaning about fixture congestion and the fact he has to play Saturday at 1230 after a midweek game in the UCL. Gary's right-Klopp's trying to get an advantage for his team and he knows it, just like SAF did at Utd. Gary's argument is that this season, Liverpool have more days between their games, on average, than previous seasons, despite it being "an exceptional season" and a "congested season". Klopp uses a thin squad regardless and has basically been injury-free for years, so it was always going to catch up on the players sooner or later. Klopp's trying to get an advantage just like Ole was in his interview, just like Pep, Ole, Klopp, and Lampard (and I'm a Chelsea fan) have this season by expressing them wanting 5 subs. They have the bigger squads so they would dominate the league even more if 5 subs were introduced

England will never win a World Cup or Euro because the teams are knackered with fixture congestions and too many games.. thx god they voted in favor of the winter break last year! Single best decision ever! Now we have nations league, CL group games every week instead of 2 week intervals which Gary fails to take into account. Stats can be deceiving if not used in the correct way and Gary takes exception to this without looking at the overall facts! Yes, the games quantity is the same as any other season, but its a shorter season! Theyre are 2 games every week now, not like where u had a break in between CL games, now those are every week as well which is not normal, then u have intl games (nations league) which wasnt before, and also cups! True but players these days also have the benefit from improvement in the sports science field. Also players these days (generally speaking) are more "professional" and takes care of their health more. Drinking culture is not as common these days as well. I'm an LFC fan btw but just feel that I need to point that out. This is why bigger teams need to use squad players more or focus on academy players more. I think that should be the solution. Clear bit of oversight in Gary’s analysis. He compared the days per game and showed Liverpool’s was lower than other clubs in the past but there is a clear oversight. A much larger proportion of this season so far has been an international break than once at the end of a complete season, simply due to how they are scheduled. Liverpool’s days per match if you discount international breaks is higher than any of the clubs you had shown. You can see that is trivially the case because Liverpool have played every single available mid week this season, it is quite literally impossible for any team on that list to have had a higher days per match. And this isn’t just a Liverpool thing by the way, for most English CL clubs this season i believe this is the case.

Klopp has a 25 man squad that he registers at the start of the season just like every other coach and he has youth team players that he can use too that don't need to be registered, why is he complaining about the schedule and player fitness and such while it's up to him to rotate to keep his starters fresh but he has overplayed them for 2 seasons straight and in a system that involves constant running and pressing and now injuries are piling up, that's on him and this 5 subs he's crying for won't change that

This year teams should have atleast an extra sub because the seasons so congested, it's why there are so many injuries. The issue being that the top teams with better squad depth may perform better. The issue with this idea is that top teams will benefit by having better players to replace first team players that get injured due to the congestion anyway. So I think it's just better to add maybe 4 subs and see how it goes just for the rest of this season.

More rest than in any other season? Has he seen the soft tissue injury figures compared to literally every other season, how does he explain that one? Having 3 months off playing elite sport and probably not training anywhere near the intensity that they should be whilst they were at home will not give them a 'rest' it will mean that their soft tissues will adapt to having less demand and lower their capability to cope with high intensity training and competition which the players have been flung back into without having the time in pre season to slowly re-gain this ability to cope with physical demands. I usually agree with everything Neville says, but he is not qualified to talk about recovery and injury and he's completely off the mark on this one.

The early kick-off problem that Klopp is pointing at though, is in context to the late midweek fixtures. Not about the time slot itself. It is in context of recovery time Between games. And further, the argument that they've had the most rest ever in the prem, and that Klopp played the best 11 he could through out the most uncertain times, how could anyone have known the scope of this pandemic, hindsight is always 20/20 and that can't be an argument. The way that teams are being trained, matched, rested have been reactionary since the pandemic got taken seriously. So every team in the prem (and the world) are reacting to things as they come, they certainly try to have a season/periodic plan for what to do, but they lose precious time to accommodate every outcome with a plan. And ofcourse the bigger teams will get an advantage, and that is something we can't disregard in all this, so where should the sympathies be? How do we make a good, sensible change to how we get the best for everyone? There's no easy answer, but in my opinion i wholeheartedly believe that the players should be the focus of this. With muscle injuries at an alltime high, we can't disregard that something is very very wrong, and those injuries can halt, stop or even END careers. All because they can't have 5 changes or fixture times can't be changed? Let them have 5 player changes, but maybe only at 3 separate moments. That way, teams wouldn't be able to kill the momentum more than what it can do now, but still have the possibility to guard their players.

Poor on this issue from Gary. It’s one thing to worry about big teams having a tactical advantage with their squads being deeper - it’s another thing entirely to oppose a solution when more players than ever are suffering serious, career and life changing injuries because of their workload. The stat Gary brings up here doesn’t take into account international fixtures, including pointless friendlies players are conscripted for. He also says he wants to see the trend over a whole season when he disagrees with Carra, but brings up the stat based on part of the season to support his own argument. The season started later than usual, but they plan to finish on time and play the same number of games. So over a season we will see games played more frequently to compensate. It’s already started, which is why there are so many more injuries. Stubborn and reaching for statistics to suit his narrative, when usually he’s really good and seeing the facts. And he talks about Klopp being done in an interview, Neville’s done himself here

@Morbid Angel is better than Death Yes. when you take into account they are a title winning team. If you want to judge us as a bottom of table team prob not, but for a team challenging YES .. more than the avg that does. but take that point away.. the point is 30% more injuries this season than the AVG season, is Klops and Carra , Ole,. Pep point. which the poster dosent want to talk about

How's he looking for an advantage? He's at a disadvantage because this season of all seasons, playing in Europe is a real hassle. It's the disadvantage he's trying to do away with.
