Great Video! I am 73 years old and I just bought my Vette last fall. I have to put a battery in it and I wasn't going to do it myself until I saw your video.. Just changed mine. The battery required is in “group 85” (for 2008+); and from what I read group 86 for 2005-2007. I can confirm that group 86 battery from Costco can work as well, making sure the wires can reach the battery terminals. The placement of the terminals is the only difference between group 85 and 86 batteries

If you plug in a CTEK battery tender or any battery tender for that matter into cigarette lighter will this also save your settings? Also just by changing car battery will this loose your personal options that you set in the Display Information Center such as having headlights turn on before entering car or not turn on before entering car-( twilight sentinel feature?) There are other features in that Display Info Center like personalization of having your name in it. Now will these settings in Display Information Center be lost? Is there an optional AC/Delco battery available that is more powerful than the battery than came in this car but will fit exactly the same without blocking the door to the cabin filter door? (Cabin Filter door is located behind and above stock battery).

Hey Manny, that looks like some tight quarters on that Corvette. Take care and don't work hard.

Important Tip: This vid covers it all except, when you are removing the hold down Do Not drop it down the battery area. Everything ends up under the batt tray then you have to remove the tray to get it.

Can you help me with a few issues on my corvette? I have a battery corrosion issues and I have an issue with my windows. They lack power going up and down. My interior lights will not turn off. I have to disconnect my battery.

Just so all you guys know, "the engine mount" with wet sump, The tray is smaller it takes a smaller battery you can see both batteries are not setting in the tray correctly. The correct one for 08 is the PS85 not PS90 Ac Delco. You do not want to have it sitting cattywampiss when you crank the pinch wedge down it could break the battery case and leak acid it will destroy your E38-ECU instantly because it is right under the tray, or it can come loose and your ECU plugs/ac lines are right there on both sides.

I would suggest to never turn a battery on it's side or upside down. You are lucky it didn't leak on you. And no they aren't as sealed as you think. A C6 battery does come out with keeping it straight up.

I have a c6 (2012 GS convertible). the electronics you can fry from a simple jump has me worried... Once the new battery goes in, how long does it take for the car to go through resetting everything?

Hi Klowny, I own a 2005 Corvette. I had AAA replace my battery a month ago when I was stuck at work, and they did not reset or reprogram after the installation. My Dashboard now says " Service Tire Monitor" after the installation and this was not appearing before the battery replacement. How do I rest or reprogram so this goes away?

The battery on a C-6 Grand Sport is in the back of the car in a compartment. That is to have room under the hood for the "dry sump" oil cannister.
