Rest in peace, Donald Sutherland. My best friend's dad wrote this, Andrew Lewis. We saw it at the premiere with her dad and stepmother. He was in so very many films yet this will forever be my favorite of them both. Just watched an interesting interview of Jane talking about her character and accepting the script with hesitation. She won an Oscar for this film. Donald and son Keifer and the circle, deepest condolences. May his best memories sustain you in his absence. ❤

Such an amazing scene. The length of time the camera lingers on her bare back before finally revealing her in the mirror. Klute's hand on her head as he draws his gun. The scene is a total power flip. Flawless. (side note: $200 in 1971 is about $1,500 today)

The whole film is full of well thought out creative scenes. It I wanted to write a film script I would use Klute as one of the inspirations.

R.I.P. Donald Sutherland, please spread some love and heartfelt condolences to his family. Sutherland was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and one-of-a-kind actor who inspired and entertained the world for decades.

This is an amazing scene. Its perfectly acted by Donald sutherland and jane fonda. Fonda's character thinks this man is some sort of country bumpkin with no street smarts but he switches to protector/killer in an instant

The music in the beginning reminds me of Mindhunter BTK killer music. It’s incredible how creepy it instantly became. Absolutely genius.

I wonder sometimes if younger moderns have ever had transcendence from any of the Arts - their era is so full of tawdry copies (cut-and-paste) of genuine originals.

Interesting point. I know every generation feels their art is superior to what's current; that's always been a subjective reality I've accepted and understood. But for the first time, I wonder if we've hit a point in the arts where it might actually be true. I hope that's not.
